Total Watts

  1. Yes. Well worth considering. I like to play fairly clean sometimes with a little fuzz and dirt thrown in. I can’t see me using much more than that and a tuner.
  2. I really like this iso brick but as @Al Krow said it’s pretty much overkill for a bedroom bassist like myself. The last power pack from amazon looks good. I’ve seen various similar ones listed on eBay for pretty much the same price with fairly good reviews. This (or an eBay) version will be the way I am going to go I think. Now I know I’m not going to fry my pedals! Thanks for all the help and advice.
  3. These are the pedals I experiment with. They all say 9v on the back apart from the chorus and envelope filter they both say use a 10v dc negative ground power supply? I only plan on really using the tu-3 the odb-3 and the muff mainly though. I like the the sound of the Harley Benton junior supply. I’ll have to google that one. Edit: the muff doesn’t say anything on the rear regarding voltage
  4. Good idea. Is it just a case of reading the voltages on the back and seeing if they are all the same?
  5. Thank you Al Krow. I will give the links a good old read 🤙
  6. Hi peeps, ive recently amassed a small (3) collection of pedals and I’m aiming to diy or buy a little pedal board for them. I am after information regarding a power source for the pedals as I am sick of using 9v batteries all the time. I’ve seen various models of power bricks on line but I’m new to this. Will all power bricks work with all pedals or do you have to choose specific ones for certain powered pedals? any info or links would be appreciated. Thank you.
  7. These look good. I’ve subbed and I’ll check them out. Thanks.
  8. As above, I’m thinking of getting myself some lessons. Looking for a competent tutor in or around the grimsby Or Dn postcode area. I’m guessing it’s a long shot but you never know.
  9. I like the ‘buy to try’ approach. I may have to employ that more often when searching online sales. Dangoose, I have done exactly the same as you. I waited ages to find a used Sr500l or similar but ended up going for a nos 2014 Sr500l too. It arrived last Saturday and I love the weight and feel of the neck. Im still a little curious about it though as I’ve noticed that it goes slightly sharp after it’s been sat for an hour or two. I had a look at the nut and to me it didn’t look finished as good as I thought it could have been, I’ve rubbed some graphite under the strings and that’s seemed to help ease it a little. Im also struggling to get a tone from it that I am completely happy with atm. I’m not sure if that’s because of the new strings, my crappy practice amp or I just have not found the sweet spot yet other than the above I found the set up out to box to be pretty sweet. How was yours?
  10. Bought a bass muff pi from Martyn. No issues whatsoever. Very well packaged.
  11. There are fewer more distressing sights than that Of an Englishman in a baseball cap Yeah well die in the class we were born Thats a class of our own my love Were in a class of our own my love
  12. It sounds like stainless or maybe them coated strings would be worth trying.
  13. That's good news about the gig bags then. Yeah I've had a go on a mates ibanez sr700 and I quite fancy the sr500l. The thin neck appeals to me. I've not come across a lefty ibanez as of yet to try properly though.
