Thanks for the replies! I'm not that great at spotting the fakes from the real ones yet, so thanks for all the input! I had a feeling there was something off about how it looked, I just couldn't say for sure, but good to know I can trust my instincts a little bit when it comes to looking at possible fakes haha sucks though I was hoping I'd get a steal, and I liked the two tone sunburst design on it. I'd give it a test run if only it had strings on it. Thanks for all the help!

Hey guys! I found this Fender Precision Bass being sold online for a crazy bargain. I'm worried this might be too good to be true, so I'm a bit skeptical about buying it. Also the hole for the truss rod seems to be a bit off, like it's not completely in the middle of the neck. Would you guys have any idea if this pbass is a legit Fender or just a copy? I only just messaged the seller asking for more pictures, like a clearer picture of the headstock, the back of the body and the neck, and a serial number. I'll upload the other pics once the seller answers my message and provides the pictures I asked for so it can be a bit easier to come up with an answer for sure. Thanks for the help!

Just to update for those who showed some concern. I got the bass for about half the price of the other listings I've seen around the net. Although the cosmetics aren't the best, I actually adore the faded color of the body and the peeling of the finish on the head and neck, it gives it an even more vintage look, that was actually the first thing that caught my eye. Despite the beat up look, the bass still sounds amazing! I've been playing around with it these past two days, and so far I've had no problems with it. I can't wait to use it in a gig! I'm absolutely in love with this bass now, and will make a few upgrades here and there to get it sounding and looking even better! I have no regrets with this wonderful purchase! Hey there! Sorry to revive a pretty old thread, but this is the most recent thread I could find that discussed these PB400 basses. Anyway, I'm looking at buying one of my own, and I was just curious where I could supposedly locate the serial number on this bass? Here's a few pictures of the one I'm looking at buying. It looks a bit more dated compared to the one above, with the wood looking more faded already. Anyway, here are a few pics. I'm hoping I could get some insight from you guys about it and whether I should just go ahead and buy it already. I love the vintage, worn-out wood look on this one. Apparently it comes with 2008 Fender pups as well.
