    Thanks for all the advice and suggestions guys. From what has been said I think I would be better off looking for a second hand Stentor 1950 or similar rather than a new budget instrument. If anybody did have anything along these lines please feel free to pm me. Dave

    Hi, After learning to play electric upright for 6 months I would like to try a double bass. I have posted in the wanted section for a second hand instrument, but wondered if anybody had any experience or recommendations of the lower priced double basses offered by Thomann or similar?     Hi, I'm an electric bass player who would like to try upright. The only practical way for me is an electric upright. I have put a post in the wanted area for a Stagg or similar. I wondered if anybody could recommend any similar entry level makes, or indeed have one for sale. Many thanks, Dave

    Does anybody have a confirmed schematic for a head phone amp suitable for bass and with an 'auxilary in' to be able to play along with drum or backing track? Something that can be built on perf board and run from a 9v battery.

    Just bought a roland cube amp from Pawel. We met at his place over a coffee and a great chat. This guy is honest and reliable and a great guy to deal with. He also plays some really cool slap riffs! I couldn't recommend him highly enough. Thanks Pawel for a very pleasant transaction. Dave

    Hi all, I'm Dave from portsmouth, recently taken up bass after struggling with abused fingers on guitar. (40 years in engineering).Find I can actually feel the strings under my fingers! This looks like a great site with lots of interesting topics.
