1. Hello Stag, I fix and sell guitars and have had lots of Harley Bentons; in all my experience they have been excelent, and not just in twang for your buck, but that once set up they are as good as anything... even straight from the factory the frets rarely need any leveling work, but of course the truss rod, nut, and bridge will need attention. I mostly get their Telecasters, and they are superb but so is all their stuff. Cheers, Mark...................
2. At sixty one years I am becoming long sighted so the edge of the neck is just a blur, and I am too proud to play wearing my reading glasses... I make biggish paint blobs with car touch-up paint; just one on the fifth and seventh frets and two at the twelfth; so even if just a blur I can still stay in position. Who said everything gets better and better as you get older? Mark...................... ps. my paint blobs also work a bit like the blind reading braille.
3. Thanks Douglas for what it was you did... though flash embedded etc is all Greek to me! So if I make another clip what should I be looking to do differently? Thanks, Mark...............
4. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGss0pRE9yU&t=194s Just a bit scary having your kid film her old man singing his song for her to film... but here it is. Mark....................... If the link is bad find, Bass and drums: A night in Langney
5.
We're playing the Ojxam Beeston Takeover on Sat night. which band are you? This is us https://www.facebook.../missbowieband/
A pretty nice sound going there from the Miss Bowie Band, do you ever come as far south as Sussex? Mark.......................
6. So many different types of aspiration I see here... I gigged regularly in my twenties but not really beyond thirty, and you know just covers band stuff and a band in south London doing only our own material... now at sixty one I am more into guitars than ever and really wanting to play with others, but small kids very late in life means I might too often be letting the other band members down if I learned a set with them and they got us bookings... how can you suddenly be saying "I need to give it a miss this Saturday guys as my boy is a bit groggy". But now I practice bass and foot drums and vocal all in one I dream of finding a good keyboard/vocal artist who I can accompany; and I have a couple of local pubs that would welcome us if just for a few beers as payment. But still searching for that person!

Guitarist managed to break strings on two guitars, think he finished the gig with only 5 strings on a Yamaha strat copy.
Hello, And two little links to your post there... first that I still use a Cobra 90 combo to this day... but more, that although I had never heard of them before, or since for that matter, I saw Urban Clearway play at Ewell Tech with another band called Tunnel House... both good bands too! Cheers, Mark.....................
8. Hello all, And well at 61 now it wasn't really my first gig ever but did rather feel like it, as a couple of days ago my daughter filmed me doing my latest song in my workshop studio on bass with foot drums... ie. Roland bass drum pedal and a conventional high hat. I used a Keiper bass from my ebay shop and warbled my way through the song a bit like a kid playing his first live gig. Just in case you fancy seeing the youtube clip, this is the youtube link, or if it doesn't work type in "bass and drums: A night in Langney". www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGss0pRE9yU&t=194s Thanks, Mark...............
