  1. I’ve always had a soft spot for country, mainly via bands with Americana sound like Wilco, early Band of Horses, Jason Molina etc. Plus, I’ve always loved Cash, Nelson et al. Then on the more modern side I’ve enjoyed records by Caitlin Rose and Kacey Musgraves etc. However, I’ve only recently shown an interest in playing country. On the flip side, I have no time for the awful blues rock, boot stomping, flag waving stuff. No offence, but ain’t for me. I’m just all about the heartfelt yearning. 😁 I love the simple root and 5th use of country bass. So here’s my question(s) - what bassists should I be looking to study in the country/alt country scenes? Who else loves a heartfelt country jam? Do all your ex’s live in Texas?
  2. Don’t Ask Me To Dance - Arab Strap
  3. Hot Water Music at the Brude last week. ❤️
  4. Not just basses…sorry
  5. How can that be ergonomic or stable? Don’t do it.
  6. Spent first half of afternoon restringing and cleaning my P bass. Then second half trying to fit another dirt pedal on my nano board. Just squeezed Big Muff Pi on. Then raised the back of the board by cutting out some door stoppers and putting them on over the back feet. Finally stuck the power unit on the underside. Hope my boss isn’t a member of this forum…
  7. Saw them in Leeds on their last tour. So good live and was a mammoth set.
  8. My humble little board I made this morning when I woke up at stupid o’clock. I like playing with 2 dirt sounds. One always on that just gives me some bite (pre-amp pedal). Then one full on to make children cry. But I can’t fit my Big Muff Pi or Hotwax on here as it is a teenie tiny Pedaltrain Nano. So, going to use the distortion on the Battalion as my real dirt sound. These boys and girls (plus 2 not in photo as at my mates house) would love to join in. Maybe a new board for guitar/lap steel a should be made?
  9. Pretty much use plain black Ernie Ball straps. But in my black P I use a white one. However, my mate really matches straps to his guitars and it looks great.
