Total Watts

  1. I bought the MXR Sub Octave Bass Fuzz , the first couple of days, I did not care for it at all. I came really close to sending it back. the problem was when I got the volume set for the fuzz then changed over to the octave there was a very noticeable volume drop. For me it was one of the hardest pedals to tweak, like i said come very close to sending it back. I even got on youtube and watch others use it, but you never know what amp they are using how they got the EQ set. Maybe using other pedals you never know, plus I use different amps. At church I use a SWR350 head and a SWR410 cab and line out to the board. At home and gigs I play on my own outside the church, I use a MarkBass Jeff Berlin 151p bass amp. But my problem I hate being defeated, and I am sometimes so I went in my music room and tweak and tweak and I found the sweet spot. So the only thing and I was surprised I had to just adjust the volume on the fuzz a little, the EQ was great for both amps.. Less volume on the SWR at church, and a little more on my MarkBass. Of course the MarkBass has a huge and heavey B&C 15 speaker. And some times I use an Aguilar 210 cab with it which brings it up another 200 watts 500 all together. What it comes down to and I will quit Jabbering I like the pedal a lot.
  2. Its me again about the MXR Sub Octave bass fuzz. I spent more time with it today. I am torn do I want to get rid of it or not. You play each effect separate they suck, but if you turn the gain about middle and fuzz about about a quarter way up, the octave about 3 quarter and dry a little over half I love it. It would be a pedal you would set and leave it alone just turn it on and off. The 2 effects working together is cool. But like i said turn one off you will lose volume. I am thinking about keeping it and just leave it set like said above, do you think I am crazy.
  3. the sub octave and bass fuzz, I have played a few MXR pedals and they are excellent pedals.. i got this pedal this morning and my friends and I have messed with it maybe 6 or 7 hours. The Fuzz is okay, but the sub octave sometimes hardly noticeable. The Fuzz sounds some okay, but the volume is hard to control, you turn it up its okay but to loud, you turn it down and unbearable. To me this pedal is not very musical at all. It sort of bugs me cause i was going to take the money and get a Kala U bass. But thought I might need this, because on the side I am a Blues player. The youtube videos are not very accurate. I am sending it back in a few days.
  4. Not familiar with that bass, but would like to see pictures when you get, if you like it thats cool.
  5. What is the advantage of a 5 string bass. I had a 5 string Yamaha cheaper one. But i had a few days never played it much, and someone offer me money I couldn't resist and sold it. I sort of miss it. When I had it maybe 3 days I thought heck you can play everything on just the B string. The white one is the 5 string Yamaha like I said had it 3 days. i still have the other 2 they are my favorite basses.
  6. I went and bought a MXR sub octave bass fuzz this morning, only heard it on youtube. Do you think I am crazy has anyone here played one. I won't be here for 3 to 5 days.
  7. I like the Boss MT-2, for me it keeps the low end up pretty good. Some people think its just for Heavy Metal not true. If you just spend sometime with it and tweak it , you can get some good sounds. Myself I am not a big fan of the Boss new Bass overdrive can't remember the name.

    Compressors

I use a Keeley compressor and I really love it.
  9. some of my rig thats at home i use a older model SWR 350 head and SWR 410 at church, which I like more then my Jeff Berlin Markbass.
  10. Its long scale and its not a semi hollow its a hollow body bass
  11. Just got this bass brand new from Sweetwater music. Lakland 3TBS Hollow body
  12. my pastor come up to me and ask if i would play small venues with him, like for the mentally handicapped and nursing homes, and jails.. and at first i was reluctant but said okay. But my smallest amp is 300 watts. He said i need very little volume, i told myself small is good not much to carry, and i am 66years old that would be cool a small rig. Someone had given me an Ibanez Promethean 110 cab, around 200 watts but very lite. So I thought about using a Quilter Micro Block 45, I heard you can use them for bass and guitar, very small lite pedal can be put in my bass case. sorry my old computer cap locks come and go, but what would you think about using the Micro Block 45 with that speaker.
