What is it they say about "one man's treasure"? I've got a bad back just looking at it :)

This stuff is heavy as, but worth it for the monterous sound. Saying that the only bit of kit I'm definitely keeping is my mark bass head and 1x15 cab. Oh the joys of that in comparison.

It looks like a nice bit of kit, with those Partridge transformers. Has it always had 6550s in there? I'd expect to see EL34 in a 70's British 100 watt amp, and the bias requirements are a bit different for 6550s.

Ever since I've owned it yes, never had a problem but that doesn't mean that it's set up 100% how it maybe should/could be.

Cheers beard... have just figured this out with help from a few others too. Always thought it was too bitching to be some odd nothing type thing of a head.

  4. Have had word that head may be a rebranded Laney Super Group amp from the late 60s/early 70s.

  6. Hi all,

NOTE! The head is now sold. Just cab for sale.

Located in south east London for collection. Am moving house so looking for a quick sale, no space in the new place!

    - fender 4x12 bassman cab: £200 - late 60s early 70s in a 'diamond' configuration. This is a bit tatty up but sounds amazing. Bought from Electro Music in Doncaster about 8 years ago or thereabouts. Not sure what the speakers are but they sound amazing. Everything checked and working well.

[s]- Music City / Laney 100 watt valve head - bought from reputable dealer near York, this was picked up at a studio that closed down. Had some help from this forum to identify and it seems like this is basically a Laney Supergroup - doing some more research as I type. It has partridge transformers and x4 Svetlana Electron 6550 C tubes. Again sounds ace, I used for bass in several bands. Loud as hell. Checked and apart from a crackle in one of the pots it's working fine.[/s]
