1. I wish i did'nt say anything now.......I like SOME hip -hop but i dont drive a citron Saxo & wear gold chains lol. My background is Mowtown & blues. I just like music & dont care what genere it comes from. I love Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfuncle, Seasick Steve, Get Cape Wear Cape fly, JJ Cale, Sepultura, Alice in Chains, Tool, Infectious Gooves, Anubian Lights, Public enemy, Dead Kenedys, Rancid, Sia, Nighmares on Wax, Tosca.. It's really hard to list really. If it's good i'll give it a go.......I seem to be pidgeon holed here it's not very good from a musicians website is it?

 4.
P.S. For jazz, does anyone else find it a little bit pretentious/infuriating/confusing when someone says they are into 'jazz', and they're simply using it to describe music that they can't think which category it fits in to? It's not heavy, it's not poppy, it sounds odd, therefore it must be jazz?
I have to be shy here & put my hand up....i really dont get Jazz. Although i think the style is complex & subversive.....i honestly dont understand it......i have tried listening. But to my plebby ears it's just noise to me i'm afraid.
 5.
Why do you bother to hate anything? Like what you like and ignore the rest. There's too much hate!
I agree with that whole hartedly. Dont really care about things i dont like enough to hate them
 6. I'm not as closed in as you guys. As a rule i dont like pop (Just has a plastic feel i cant get my head around) but i will give anyone a chance. I love listening to music & i love new ideas so i think were all weird in our own way. Apart from the elf that wispers in my ear............. i ignore him

 15.
I fell into playing bass quite by accident but it turned out I'd always preferred songs with ace bass parts.
My other half is excatley the same, when i first met her she was a bit ashamed to admit that she never listened to the Bassline..... now she knows it's there & she listens to all her fave tracks all have strong Basslines. She loves Bass now. I'm trying to convince her to learn a instrument at the moment.
 16. I know i'm new so hope i dont tread on toes. When i joined my first ever band, i joined at a time when this situation was just bubbling under the surface. I pointed out that as a band were all here to make music & have fun if either of these things are happening whats the point. When you join a band you make a commitment to the other guys, you agree to turn up, learn your parts & know your bit.....if you dont then your messing the rest of the band about. And when it comes to gigs your making the band look stupid & that is basically unfair......I'm being as polite as possible here but i would not join a band if i cant be arsed to learn the parts, or expect to be in a band if i'm crap..... He needs a vocal slap round the head because he is messing you guys around. Life is too short to worry about a tantrum mate......I'd either tell him or by behaviour show your not happy. there ....my 2p
 17.
Soooooooooooooooooo What are you going to get?
I'm looking at a few acoustic Bass' at the moment. An Ibinez (Not sure of model, but it sounds really nice) the Washburn AB10 at the moment. I am looking at what i can afford. Although there looks to be some good bargains out there i am steadfast in my not looking at electric Bass'......I dont want any amplification as that road seems a complicated one. I'm not exactley a beginner just been away a long time.
 18. Thanks for all the pointers people. It's really apreciated
 19. Cheers peeps. This is all good stuff. I have a Tanglewood acoustic gu*tar (Sorry) and it has a lovley tone. Will look at The Crafter as well (My mate has a georgeous guitar by them) I think i'm gonna go for an acoustic simply because i'll spend most of the time playing it to me in the garden lol.....Dont really want to go back to bands & gigs.......just not enough time in my life for that. I'm a dad & keen Mountain biker so another time soaking activity is'nt possible......(He keeps telling himself). Quick question to anyone in general ....What happened to Bass Collection ? when i was origionally playing they were everywhere, now i dont see any on racks in shops anymore. Or did i dream them
 20.
There's a Washburn acoustic in the For Sale section, IIRC.
Yeh From "Born to be mild" i want it but i believe he's in a rush for the cash & i'm a bit skint (Just bought a house).....the idea was to come on here & learn & research for a while......And he's here with his pretty toys & is selling them.... Timings poor for my Bank account .....but i've told him if i can get the sums to add up i'll take it off his hands, I just dont want to mess him about.
 21. Now i have to say i'm not the biggest fan of this stuff ......but that is absolutley beautiful. I nearly did something involuntary when i first saw that
 22. Cheers peeps i'll take this on board. I used to play years ago but had to sell up through getting into cash problems. At the time i had a Peavy 200watt Combo, A special combo that no matter how hard your tried & how many settings you descovered still managed to sound like a goose farting behind a bush. And felt like it was made out of 2ton of pig iron. And a Honer "The Jack" Headless bass. Which i got from Cash Converters i paid £100 for it and although it was an ugly pig of a thing never went out of tune & worked well for me, i got so much stick with a headless but i loved my Bass.....it was mine & it worked. I ended up in a few bands (1 Metallica cover band) & although i was'nt that clued up as a player was given lots of pointers and free lessons by other people. Tbh i never changed my kit simply because it worked for me at the time. I left the gig scene because i was sick of bands, ego's, politics & punching lead guitarist/singers. I swore i'd never pick another Bass up ever again...........well nearly. That was nearly 9 years ago lol I now have a lot of catching up to do. When i go out shopping i'm gonna search & learn the best i can. I was looking at a Ibinez acoustic or a Washurn AB10. the reason behind the acoustic route is i dont fancy going for the amps & effects. Trying to just keep my playing for me only. I have alot of mates in bands that try & tempt me in so i wanted an acoustic so i can still resist the "Lets get Gav drunk & reel him in" plan. Trouble is i dont know much about the acoustic side & there so few & far between, to do a good search i'm driving for miles just to see 1 Bass.....grrrr i never make it easy on myself lol
 23. Yeh i know it's a general question. Just wanted to read a thread that shows the Pro's rather than the caons of certain makes. Ya see someone like me who learned the hard way that Peavy is a no no. I suppose it's nice to learn more
