1. Hi guys Just saw this post after all this time. The bass used in Stiff Little Fingers was a B302 thru neck.....I bought it as something different, as you do, 2nd hand in the mid to late '80s from Session Music when they were in York Street, Belfast. Surprisingly it was still in excellent condition and no electrical gremlins and a sweet neck, but TBH I couldn't get on with it as I'm a Fender. Music Man high on the body player, and used to the strap nut at the 12th fret and the Guild was at the 16th fret. I sold it pretty quickly into the marketplace. Would I ever want it back?....no! Just my two pennies worth. J
2. Hi if anyone reads this in 2017, Squier decals are removable EASILY with nail varnish remover....100%.
3. Hi My penny's worth. Just bought an unmarked 2014 second hand Squier Jazz bass and a Stagg gig bag and strap (WOW) for £130. Not as good as my '82 Jazz when practicing but when playing using a compressor, and a decent stack in a fun venue, only the purist could tell the difference. "I have money and I will show how authentic I am" attitude I fear. J
4. HI Please reomove this post/advert....3pm 12/1/17 Many thanks Jj
5. Hi £325 with free UK delivery. IMO like a Jazz on steroids or seen thru the bottom of a bottle.....I jest but great bass. Sale only....thinning out collection due to health. Cheers J
6. Hi My Hutchins Calypso 1 of 4 prototype single-cut sale only price......£325 with FREE UK DELIVERY. This is 1 of 4 prototype Calypso single-cut basses by renowned English luthier Gary Hutchins and is of course fully operational with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gary himself and the Instrument Log tag. It has 2 blending volume controls and 3 passive tone-shaping controls and it has a brilliant, striped through-neck. The action is great the neck is fast and easy for someone used to a 4 string to upgrade. As you can see there is a jazz-style neck pickup and a soap-bar bridge pickup. It has never been used in anger and has one tiny mark on the top. I would say that it is condition A due to strictly home use and its has ALWAYS been kept in its case. Great sound and is proud of the UK's guitar heritage. This is not a bass with the tonal limits of a P bass or entry-level offerings eg lightweight replicas or "fashion-followers" so you will enjoy its power and range. On here till 3pm on this Thursday! Good luck!

8. Hi TheGreek I've played bass for over 40 years and reading the info. on here makes me realise I know nothing or I'm not a bass-geek....wonder what responses I'll get? Always used the bass as a tool not a lifestyle choice. Cheers J
9. Hi The spacing between the strings at he bridge is 15mnm at the bridge and 8-9mm at the nut. Could someone advise what other bass players like on width? Cheers J
10. Hi Bass Apprentice. You're right. It's for someone who isn't afraid to think out of the box just a tad. I've had the usual fare Yamaha, Fender, Gibson so not going to criticise anyone staying safe.....but some people pay extraordinary money for ACG, Fodera, Alembic etc etc and John Deacon mostly used a standard Precision.£200 buy you what in basses these days? Many thanks for your help. J
11. Hi I think they are an eq but the guitar is passive and all alter the sound quality differently....sound is great. I've had a BB1100s for 28 years and whilst it doesn't have the active punch I can't see anyone not pleased with the tonal quality. OK...string spacing.....1 3/4 inches wide at the nut and 2 3/4 inches wide at the last fret.....hope this is helps. I cant see some one used to a 4 string having issues adapting to this neck. Cheers J
12. Hi Things not going well here....thanks for the advice....info on bass below....
