I definitely would NOT have put that in my video ....looks great to me

I like it - and I know plenty of others who do - but I’ve had some say that they think it’s really ugly.

    🤷‍♂️

Sheesh, and I thought my Eden Metro was heavy.

Have to give you that, though. One of the studios we rehearse in has a 210 Trace Elliot combo for a backline. After one attempt at moving it, I'll call in a fork-lift before I try again!

I’m pretty sure mine defies the laws of physics in some way or other.

I swear it’s heavier every time I try to lift it

The combo is a lump to carry and is decidedly underpowered compared to modern class D amps. Though it was portable compared to my old Trace Elliot combo!

Warwick Castle is portable compared to the Trace Elliot combo I have.

My god, how could anyone find this piece of art ugly?

Strange, as I love it - but I do get the opposite!

Because some people see it as a piece of art?

I don't think it's ugly btw, just a bit... unapproachable.

Now that’s close to the sort of comment I get - that it looks unwieldy or difficult to get on with and a bit “odd”

This isn't the thread for it of course, but are there any more pics of this bass on the site? I've only ever seen that one. I'd love to see more as that is just stunning

There might be in the fretless thread, but just for indulgence sake:

  5. Funnily enough, I get a 50/50 split of hate/love for my Shuker fretless.

Some people seem to think it's the most incredibly beautiful bass they have ever seen, and yet others say it's truly hideous and an affront to their senses.

Certainly seems some think it's ugly but others not at all...

Love that Gibson Les Paul bass

Yeah, I quite liked it as well. I guess there's weight issues with a Les Paul type of body unless it was chambered or something, but it did look pretty tho.

  7. Just got back after exhibiting at the guitar show in Brum after it made it’s return this year.

Really good day out and I thought you’d like to see some selective bass highlights..

  8. I advertised this last year and didn't get any bites. Maybe it was up too cheap or it's too far to travel to come get it - either way, I'll give it another go!

Apart from a bit of loose tolex and the badge missing off the front of the cab it's all here and complete and working. It's loud. Really flippin' loud. It's hefty as well so there's no way this can get posted.

I'm just north of Peterborough, and I'm happy to travel a reasonable distance (100 miles ish) to get it to you if you are prepared to pay at or around the asking price (I've priced it a bit higher than last time on advice, and to allow for a bit of room to negotiate a drop off or collection).

Either way, I need rid as I need the space back and it's just too heavy for me to lift about now after doc says to minimise heavy lifting.

You mean “Big enough to bury a rickenbacker in”?

You don’t bury Rickenbackers. Burn them and then shred them - less chance of them coming back as undead that way.

See, OP? Quite par for the course

Presumably a left-handed course tho, with suitable bunkers to catch out the wrong ‘uns

Damn. Proper saluting and all that, I fear my position of Bridgey’s gardener (lawns only) may be very much in jeopardy.

There’s an old man in my garden muttering something about J.R. Hartley, Sir. Requesting: one mower, sit on, old man for the use of.

Oh well in that case I’ll despatch a nice yellow sit on right away! Major Blank likes a turn on the old mower so I’ll make sure he’s well fulfilled.

Sorry, that came out all wrong.

  13. Is this on? *tap tap*

Hello? Can you hear me at the back there? Nod if you can’t.

    Right.

    Welcome. Hello. How goes it?

@Frank Blank will fill you in, but if you are in need of any radiators or any sit on mowers then do let me know.

@Raymondo, you’ve got some kebab on your jumper lad.. do tidy yourself up.

Thanks for the info guys.  I currently looking at getting a J bass as I think that they look cool.  I think that I want it in a P-J formation.  @Bridgehousetold me something about P bass split pickups, and and he is very persuasive.

Is it easy enough to stick in split pickups and a new pickguard?

You just can’t beat that split-coil P bass tone. But, if you like a thin neck then a PJ with a Jazz neck is def. the way to go - for a decent thin neck look for 38mm nut width.
