1. In honest I have loved my original HA3500. I have abused the hell out of it weekend after weekend for 15+ years. Its been frozen to death In the van in minus 18 conditions, Its swam in more than 1 pint of intoxicating beverage, Its banged up and only recently shown any issues that started with the compressor giving up and the power switch being on - on rather than on - off. Ive been through 2 tubes since the original but the last few gigs its been giving pops farts and something is definitely up with it. I have gotten so familiar with it that set up is a breeze and I know by the size and shape room, and what voices sound like in said room, what i'm going to have to do to dial in my sound. Its all just so quick and easy. Im hoping that Enough people will kick up a fuss about the UK supply issue and Hartke flip Hal Leonard off for someone better. This though..... Its the last chance.
2. Update. Finally have My hew Hartke head in its way. Should be with me today. This has been far more work that it should be to get 1 piece of equipment.
3. I have. I really hope he sees it and realises he has major problems with distribution outside of the USA
4. You are probably right Merton, but surely Its a huge loss to the company to loose distribution to an entire continent? Its a massive shame to us Hartke users/customers who have previously had no issues buying gear now being cut off. To us in the uk Hartke may as well be a dead company. This morning BAX music were showing a HA3500 in stock. I poped it in my basked, rushed through the checkout only to be met with this... I bet, from recent previous experience, If i continue... During those 8 days mentioned in orange above, i will receive an email that cancels the order due to a stocking issue . I literally believe there are none... and none coming.
5. Dear Mr Hartke, Words can't begin to express the sympathy we feel on the untimely demise of your company. Hartke products will be missed by everyone that used them and loved them deeply. I hope the expressions of sympathy that you must be receiving from everyone In the UK and most of Europe provide some consolation to you. Hopefully, knowing how much lots of us loved our Hartke's will give you a measure of comfort. Hartke bass amps were always popular with the dudes at band practice, on the gig and many men often spoke of its awesome tone and wonderful presence and power. They never had such a workhorse of an amp that inspired them the way the Hartke did; to go out night after night and entertain the masses.... Seriously though... What the hell has happened to Hartke's UK distribution? Hartke equipment used to be plentiful in many music shops across the UK, now its nowhere to be found. The products may as well not exist to us any more. WHY? I needed a new driver for my XL cab... Nowhere can get one at any reasonable time frame. in the end, I was forced to buy a different make and moved to an ampeg cab. Im not happy with it, I dont like it. My HA3500 could use a service, its working but somethings not quite right..... I desperately want a new HA3500 head to replace my ageing one... I may as well dream on. I will probably have to buy something else very soon. I've wanted to check out the TX series for at least 12 months but cant find one to try out anywhere. Id like to check out the new LX Series Heads.... I'm not holding my breath for one either. It looks like music stores across the UK, Europe and online in general isn't any longer stocking Hartke. ITS A DAMN SHAME!
6. I tried this in the wanted section a few times but drawn a blank so thought id just try it here. I figure there are a hell of a lot of XL series cabs with just 1 shredded Aluminium cone out in the world, unloved and unwanted. I have one of those too... but i do kind of love mine, and I'm looking to re home your decent working drivers into my poorly cab. Anyone out there willing to part ways with one/some (i'm looking to keep a few spares) and willing to ship them too me, at my cost, let me know how many Sheckles of the realm i should part with for the privilege, and i shall respond with an Aye or a Nae.
7. Damn just what im looking for at the right kind of money... Unfortunately Peterborough is about a 3.5 hour drive for me.
8. where about in the world are you and what kind of Money are you lo0king for?

11. Long story short..... I need advice I'm sure I have blown the drivers in my 211 pro cab. They aren't cooked, but looks by the creases around the edge the cone, that they have hyper extended and are week around the ribbed surround. Even at low volume levels, they look like they are now travelling forward too far, sound distorted and pop loudly on low notes. The cone/coil travel smoothly back and forth and don't scratch, no burnt smell or anything else. Am i right in thinking these drivers have probably failed mechanically? If so...... I am looking for replacement drivers for my 211 pro cab. the drivers are marked with: XWCP99010 I found them in the Warwick store under a part number of -XA CN 90530 but they have none in stock, and its been like that for at least the last 3 months. I have been waiting a while to see if they get new stock, but it seams that they may have discontinued the item. I am eager to get my cab up and running again please could anyone advise on a source for this part or a suitable alternative. It has been suggested to me that the XWCP99010 is an Eminence Delta 10b 16ohm or at least a very similar driver. Does anyone know if that is correct or know of suitable replacement part? What about the Eminence BASSLITE SC10-16 neodymium's .... could I just seal up the 4 cab ports and use those instead? This cab only cost me about£150 slightly used just about a year ago . It fits in the boot of a car so ideal for rehearsals and small pub gigs. It used to sound OK too. Id ideally like to fix it, but not at a cost of more that about £120. I have seen used Fender rumble 210 and Hartke Hydrive 210 cabs go used on ebay for around £180 - 200 and I would have thought those better overall that the warwick. Cheers all
12. Right over the pickup for that standard "P" sound, but I move about a bit for certain genres. I play hard and its not a problem.
13. increasing your buffer size should solve the issue
14. You can go direct but its alot of work. I have done it a few times though. Birmingham https://www.facebook...59422254134217/ Cardiff https://www.cardiffs.../venues/y-plas/ Bangor https://www.facebook...201599856589655 Worcester student union dive bar is worth a search Shefield worth wile too, buti have no contact You just need to ask for the entertainments manager. In some uni's the venue is controlled/ run by an independent promoter, you might need their details too. Don't expect much money for the evening, but it will be good for networking. On one occasion I booked the student venue on campus and put on an evening of bands.
15.
I've posted this on the forum before, but here's a gig I recorded last year with the XR18: https://youtu.be/dN2JFWjn5FU I've never had problems with the USB recording; think I've done up to 14 channels into Logic on a MacBook Pro and can record for hours without issues. As long as the gains are right everything's sweet. I really like the preamp sound; way better than the price would suggest. Would recommend an external hard drive though (I use a Lacie Rugged which works great) I had increasing dropouts with the built in wifi in busy gigs (as far as I can tell due to more mobile phones than anything else) but have started using an external router and no problems since. Once you get used to it, the app is truly remarkable; so many features! There's really nothing I've wanted to do with it that I can't. Even multiband compression on the output mix, which sounds great. There have been a couple of bugs, and I once had to do a hard reset before a gig that was a real pain in the arse, and currently have lost the main output meter display, but not bothering me immensely. I've been close to upgrading to the X32 rack several times, but really not found an excuse to yet!
Wow, thanks for this, I have been looking to find an actual recording with the XR18 used as an interface while also being used as a mixer. I am likely going to be connected to a laptop via cable for 99% of gigs so connectivity issues are not so much of a worry for me. I always have a laptop wih me anyway. I will give the tablet mixing a try though as that could be a handy feature for our roadie to make tweaks from the room if something sounds way off. I am hoping to use a bit of compression and what not too. Decision is made. Just got to get the funds together now. The offer ended early due to selling out. I hope they come back for the original price although I feel they are worth the full RRP anyway.
16.
We got one a few months ago, 3 gigs and its paid for itself. Probably the best bit of kit we ever bought, no more mixing desk to lug around and find somewhere to put on a tiny stage! The size and weight is great, we put it in front of the bass drum, mic everything up (theres plenty of inputs) and the drummer mixes on the tablet. We get a great mix, save it as that particular venue's own mix for next time and crack on. So far never had a loss of signal but as others have said thats not a worry as it doesnt loose its settings if you do. If you can afford one, I recommend.
I'm getting very close to pulling the trigger. I have been and listen to a band that use one live and fair play it sounded great. As for recording a live show, it looks to me like i could just set up the live sound as usual and then send the individual tracks post gain / pre EQ into any DAW software for mixing later. I cant wait to try it out.
17. I don't mix with headphones but I like to check a mix with 2 pairs of headphones and also iPod earbuds. I have a pair of Koss Pro4s with theSLX40 element, supposed to be tuned for reference listening in a studio environment and they do sound similar to my alesis studio monitors. real flat but detailed. not very comfortable to wear for long periods but Highly recommended. I got mine for £115 online https://www.koss.com...eadphones/pro4s I then like to test my mix with a pair of Sony XB950AP. These Pack serious bass and I use it to reference the low end. These are bass exaggerated and are good for listening to anything and feeling like you are using huge speakers. Not as detailed but that bass!!!!! feels like someone is kicking you in the head if up loud. I love these for general listening and films too. great comfort on my large head. These are about £90 https://www.sony.co....nes/mdr-xb950ap Last of all I test with standard/ possibly copy iPod earbuds, these are almost the polar opposite of the above Sony's and I use it to make sure the mix isn't to harsh for small headphone/ earbud users, after all this is how so many people listen these days. obviously these are not hard to get hold of and cost typically less than a tenner.
18. It was mainly just the workflow and having to remember if you were in bank 1-8 or 9-16 on the faders. Also editing was difficult if you were trying to play and use the mixer at the same time. The menus and operation on Zoom devices is notoriously difficult, the 1608 was no exception to that rule and I often found myself lost in its many layers of menu's, and the small screen didn't help. Punch ins worked well if you were doing Virtual takes but not if you were replacing the original take. Many accidental erased tracks occurred. I think this may have been me doing something wrong. but I never got to the bottom of it. Mixing a "V" take was more difficult than an original take but i cannot remember the reason why. I didn't like the built in pre amps a great deal, they were a bit too sterile for my liking, but far from the worst i have heard. The on board compressor was difficult to work with and seamed to be either to hard or to soft. but the end results when mixed sounded OK, if a little hollow and LIVE sounding. I don't think I was ever 100% happy with 1 recording produced with just the 1608, as a "studio" and used to take the tracks and mix on my DAW later. They weren't terrible, but just not my best work. I made a few live show recordings for bands and they liked the results, but the mixdowns always sounded a bit live, even if i tracked a band with overdubs. However bunging the tracks into logic and mixing them there, I was always pretty happy with the results, and that "live" sound used to vanish. I mainly used the 1608 this way. I ultimately wanted to record more than 8 tracks simultaneously and found this the most limiting factor and the main reason I abandoned my zoom. The on board headphone amp was under powered and if trying to record live drums you could not here the mix in the headphones without running through some kind of External booster/ headphone amp. I used a Behringer HA4000 4 way headphone amp with it(£20) so no big deal That was on a 1608 though. I'm just guessing the R24 is an evolution of it.
19. Awsomness! sounds like exactly what I want. Do you have any recordings you have used it for i can listen to?
20. I tried the zoom 1608, couldn't get on with it as a stand alone, so used to export the recordings to my DAW for mixing. My productivity Improves after i swapped to a mixer/ interface and started recording straight to DAW. I used a Alesis Multimix 16 for a good long time. Now I'm considering a Behringer x18 air as a 18 channel interface to record my live shows. Im guessing its a similar expereance on the R24. Were all different though
21. https://www.music-gr...ers/X18/p/P0AWZ Seen one of these going for £360, ex display. Looked on the net and its abilities seem to good to be true. Can this thing really be a fully fledged digital mixer, complete with decent enough pre's, gates ,compressors, EQ, and Effects while also having the ability to chose a place in the signal chain for each input while a band plays live and have that recorded into my DAW on my laptop for mixing later? If so its sold! Anyone used one?
22. Anyone on here fancy doing a review of this album or even just a couple of tracks off it? I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
23. If the spindle of your pot is slotted, put a spanner on the nut and a screwdriver in the pot shaft, turn the shaft all the way to the end of travel then carefully tighten up the nut. Don't put to much stress on the shaft doing this though. Once its semi tight, the washer on the back of the scrach plate should bite in a bit and allow you to fully tighten up the pot.
