Hi Matthew , I had a couple of private lessons with your dad around 1976/1977 . Nice guy , relaxed and a good teacher . I remember vaguely a bedsit in North London where I think he lived with his girlfriend . He played a custom made jazz bass I think . Perhaps natural finish . He preferred it to fenders . Lots of top tips in a short space of time . He was quite a popular tutor at the time and I think advertised his services in Melody Maker . I seem to remember he was owed money for some sessions he had done at Freerange Studios in Covent Garden having been booked by the late Neville Wills . Hi I purchased a BG 400 from a well known on line supplier in 2017 . An outstanding amp however after a number of months while gigging ie used continuously on stage or rehearsal room it would start clipping / cutting out for a few seconds . Both channels with limiter on and limiter off . With and without the C8 extension cab . Electrical power , leads etc all normal . I sent it back under guarantee . They service partner could not replicate the fault . I should add that the fault is not replicated I contacted my amp tech and he and was somewhat taken back that it is a known fault as highlighted by this reputable forum . The problems is the sophisticated Power supply unit which when heated through use triggers this glitch . Its a very straightforward fix by replacing the power control module in its entirety .
