Me three! If I'm still in the area, I will be there if I can.

On hearing the postman struggling to cram something through the letterbox I assumed a) he'd finally cracked and decided to hump the attractive front door (it's the stained glass window with the sunset that does it) or b) Chez Blank had been targeted for an inordinate amount of junk mail this morning. In fact it was the rarely seen option q) arrival of Bass Bash T-Shirt, addressed to none other F Black, whoever that is? As he appears to take the same size as me in T-shirts I have appropriated it.
Cheers Stumpybike.
😉
Mine also arrived today, thanks! Have tried it on and already my playing has improved... 😎

Sadly, real life has kept me off the forum for a while; I'm really annoyed I missed this. If you have any T shirts left, I'll happily take one off your hands as a penance... 🙂

The Lulls aren't really going to save your back. Believe me, I've got two.
You have two backs? Impressive... 😎

The Epiphone is particularly nasty - I tried one when they first came out and hated it...
I'd agree with this. I went to try out a Epiphone Thunderbird after doing some research and was convinced it was the one for me; as soon as I picked it up, I hated it. Very neck heavy - I was having to practically support the neck with my fretting hand which made playing difficult and it just felt very hard to play. Tried out a Musicman Sub Ray which was my backup choice and loved it straight away - bought it there and then! An absolute beast on the bottom end, but I've always thought it a bit weedy on the top end, but then I didn't go into bass to be playing past the 10th fret anyway... 😎

Could try the Rolling Stones Blue & Lonesome album. Some tracks on there have piano parts if not a keyboard

The lockdown belly is coming on nicely... Having to start social distancing from the fridge!

Just found this post. If I'm still in the area in October, might just come and say hi - not sure I can bring anything exotic with me though.

Absolutely brilliant! Well done! A whole new career awaits, I'd say...

PJ Harvey or Captain Beefheart always work well for me...

Phew!!! I managed to fly under the RADAR on that one...
Not looking forward to tomorrow's Pointless Daily Challenge
Also, I think @skankdelvar will be most aggrieved in the inexplicable absence of his inclusion in this most remarkably noble of causes...
BTW, I was most influenced by Kim Wilde, Debbie Harry and that tennis girl poster in my teenage years and a bit later on Teri Hatcher.

There's not too many photos of me around - I prefer to be taking the photo rather than be in it; but here's a recent shot I took during my daily walk. Lockdown finds me a bit stranded in Weston-Super-Mare as I am renting a place down here while working in Bristol and that's where I was when lockdown called so not able to go home to the Midlands. Still, trying to make the best of it by sending photos back to my Wife detailing the torrid time I'm having down here...

Saxophone - Baker St,.
Once you totally mastered Baker Street (and told 'em confidently it was played by Bob Holness of Blockbusters fame for good measure 😉 ) You could turn your Sax chops towards the Pink Panther theme (written apparently after Henry Mancini visited Durham) - that'll really cheer them up.
As for bass, try seeing how far you get with the intro to Psycho Killer by Talking Heads, or Sunshine of Your Love by Cream...
Good luck with your mission!

Yeah bit weird, my computer is a 2012 model though but the camera is 720p and fine in Zoom/Hangouts.
Skype is being retired by Microsoft later this year in favour of Teams - so there may be a bit of wilful obsolescence creeping in to encourage people to migrate across, which is not like them at all... Problem is, they probably never saw how well Zoom was going to do out of this pandemic.

This must be the first bass you can get accessories for at Ann Summers... well that would be MY excuse, anyway... 😁

I've also just been looking for a strap and came across this one:
https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/gibson-edge-comfort-guitar-strap
Does have a buckle adjust as per your OP, and is designed for heavier instruments such as a bass. I did like this one but didn't go for it precisely because of the buckle - I normally transport my bass in a soft case with strap attached at one end only and thought the buckle might dig in to the body a bit. Might be worth a look.

.... and that Santa brings you whatever Bass related gear it was that you asked for!
Personally, I don't leave such important matters to that charlatan - so I went and bought it myself last week!
So now I'm like...

Went to see Sweet in Frome on Thursday. Absolutely brilliant gig - sound was great, band really tight. They're currently on tour - go see them if you can.
Took this video clip, but my mobile doesn't really do it justice; although at 50 y/o and possibly the youngest person in the room, I did think this was a bit ironic...

House bands, backing groups that went on to do alright for themselves

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the mighty Jasper Carrot. On his No.1 hit 'Funky Moped' the backing band would go on to be ELO... who did OK for themselves... 🙂
