Thanks @Cuzzie. I'm curious though - is there anything you are aware of that might increase its value relatively speaking? Are the older ones particularly desirable? Apart from the fact it has a relic job in between soft and hardcore, it seems to be pretty much the same spec as a regular current TT4.

Vibration or heat treatment to the bass.

Pick ups - there is not Delano on them (unless it rubbed off and I can’t see) so they could be Sandberg own, or even Haüssel’s, is it the standard pre amp, or a different one

    A few things…..

probably a stupid but a quick question about the Bluetooth music streaming bit of this. Does it limit where you can access from as i had seen Youtube and Spotify mentioned. Can i stream content to the pedal straight from itunes on my phone?

I think it’s anything your phone plays - like a speaker - you can also change settings on saved presets and change IR’s from the app

I haven't actually. Im never sure that a bitsa is going to be great or not tbh. I could be totally wrong.

if you think logically, pretty much all Fenders are bitsa’s!

That was their MO how you could pull respective bits out a bucket, bolt them together and away you go!

I would happily put my bitsa’s up against mostly any bass and it would not disappoint

After doing the Jazz Bitsa, I'm thinking of going back to the P Bitsa and Tele-ing its head... just to make an increase to the difference in appearance...796000812_Felstead_PBass_resized.thumb.jpg.5b1d2f6da705985ba11bcc597a065d2c.jpg

might need a very slightly wider 'long bump' for a little wood under the string tree...

H.thumb.jpg.b8e4e71492bc0d88ce8317cf809844ee.jpgsame style string tree as @Cuzzie

    Got some spare decals...

    Yay or Nay?

    do it!

Nah - certainly not all on at the same time, haha! That pic with the pedals lit up was just photoshoot purposes and to show some of fx that are available as and when I need them. There's several more that I use from time to time on the B1-4 e.g. chorus, Z-synth, tape-echo, "Motown" EQ.

I very rarely have more than one drive engaged at any one time, but may layer them with a presence setting on the VTDI which works well if you want to cut-through rather than sit in the mix.

And the VTDI settings, more generally, will be tailored to the bass being used and the flavour desired: ranging from Ampegy to increased presence to tube dirt. As you know, it's a very flexible pre-amp and understandably still one of Tech21's all time favs.

What's your pedal board looking like these days?

Any combination or FEA OptiFET, CaliCB, DP3X, PSA2.0, GZR Wah, dUg amp

    Signal chain: Boss OC5 -->  Pigtronix Octava -->  Boss SY-200 --> Zoom B1-4 --> 3 Leaf Proton --> Thumpinator HPF (under the board)--> Tech 21 VTDI.

All powered by a HB Iso5 Pro.

This update got a big thumbs up from our band’s guitarist! 😊

I've replaced my Future Impact mono-synth pedal, with its cool bass synth sounds, with a polyphonic Boss SY-200 synth pedal. Whilst not quite so lush as the FI the SY-200, being poly, tracks more tightly and with less latency; a more winning combination IMO for a band-mix particularly on faster / busier bass lines.

    decent set up that.

i see you have at least one octave, synth, 2 drives (VTDi and B7K on the zoom) and the envelope filter all on.

What kind of sound does that give?

Is the drive on your amp also on?

All of that combined could give a very rich harmonic sound.

My journey down the pedal rabbit hole started with the more extreme/obvious effects like fuzz, envelope filters, synth, modulation. It took me a while to really 'get' the more subtle things like preamps/EQ and compressors, I think I needed to use them in a band situation to fully realise the value they bring but now I have seen the light they are what I nerd out on and other pedals hardley get a look in.

I'm currently usign the Fishman Platinum Pro's single dial compressor which generally does well (and it's nice to simplify things/reduce the risk for things accidentally being set in the wrong place/extra cables and noise etc) but I did notice that playing at volume through a 212 cab my D and G strings were sounding a bit weak, they don't sound weak at lower volumes/home practice though....I'm not sure if that's down to technique, compression, preamp/EQ, Cab,  or something else (anyone with any ideas?) but I've got a feeling a more tweakable compressor might be the answer. I had a FEA Opti-FET which was great and perhaps I should have kept it, it's good to play the compressor field a bit though!......So long story short, I think a Cali 76 is right at the top of my shopping list, along with Diamond Comp Jr, Empress, and it sounds like I should consider the BC-1X too.

Opti FET is stunning - i use that and the CaliCB

  8. Welcome to compression/compressors. Taken the time to properly understand and tweak they and especially this one is phenomenal and improving the balance of your sound to a level where no one knows something is working, but everything is working because of how it makes it sit.

You are correct as well, it’s not that daunting and very intuitive
