  1. Not tried that one. Will give it a try!
  2. Is it just me, or do others find it increasingly difficult to extract contact lenses when the necessary fingers have been working hard on the strings? Wifey has to extract them for me!
  3. I also used an RM800 with a Super Twelve for four gigging years. Immense sound and tone. Great combination. But eventually I was just too much so I have gone small and light.

  5. This is a photo of me playing a Framus Jazz Bass in around 1980. It was a classic JB with standard VVT set up. Of note was the rock solid build quality and components. Never had any set up or tuning issues, but nothing ever went wrong. In the end I sold it and traded up (?) to an Ibanez 925 Roadster, which has to be said gave me a lot more options and was also a fab bass but was a boat anchor. But I really wish I had kept hold of that Framus.
  6. I was in BB heaven last weekend at a local pub gig. Got a good growl going!
  7. If You Love Me Like You Say Yamaha BB735A direct into a Rumble 500 with a touch of drive.
  8. I use the much-praised Rumble 500 v3 for larger gigs, and an Elf + Barefaced 110 for smaller ones. Every possibility is covered, as I can also use the 110 as an extension for the Rumble. Great tones from both setups. Highly recommended!
  9. Jim bought some strings! Pleasure to deal with. Anytime!
  10. Now a proud owner of a Rumble 500 thanks to Chris. Perfect transaction, well packed and promptly posted. Pleasure to deal with.

  12. More strings from Daniel! All as described, perfect gent. Well pleased.
  13. Couldn't agree more. Whenever I play at jams and a guitardist has a go at bass, it seems to be a competition about how many notes they can fit into one bar, and how loud they can get it to go by plucking the strings as hard as they can. Just chaos, hopeless.
  14. That reminds me of my Framus Jazz Bass, one that got away, here seen in 1982.
  15. I acquired a PB20 SBK last December, fitted it with Hipshot tuners, Wilkinson Alinco V pickup, Kiogon loom, and TI Jazz flats, and it is now my fave bass. Indeed it is my g-to bass for our first 2 post-lockdown gigs, ahead of my Yammies! Sounds and plays great.
  16. Bought some TI flats from Ian. All as described, well packed and on time. Top banana.
  17. Bought a body and neck from Mark. Perfectly packed, all as described. Perfect for my needs.

Bought a Mono strap from Martin. Impeccable throughout!
  20. Yes I had Chromes on my 735A for a while. Whilst they sounded like normal thumping flats I felt a bit frustrated that I could not get that special BB tone out of them so I went back to nickel rounds. The Chromes are more at home on the P bass!
  21. Hi Mark, No it is for senior players! It is 3/4 because being electric I'd does not have to be as large. It is still well over 6feet tall! However this Stagg is now sold pending collection at the weekend

  23. Stagg EDB 3/4 in very good condition. I have had it for a couple of years, but my small hands cannot seem to cope with it and I end up in pain. I know I will not be gigging it anytime soon so it should go to somone who will enjoy it more. It is complete with the Stagg stand, which is very robust. A couple of rotary knobs have slightly broken on it but it all works fine. Also included is the original fur-lined Stagg gigbag which has never been out of the house. I did not like the original Stagg strings so I changed them for Innovation Super Silvers and they sound fantastic. Everything works as it should, I have really enjoyed learning the EUB, but I am going to change it for a 5-string fretless (in case there are any potential trades).
