@Ricky Rioli’s plan yielded results, thanks. I received a call from the head office just earlier and it has been located and found and is on its way from the hub to its new owner. Fingers crossed but it looks like (despite me writing the consignment number, address of the sender and the recipient and phone numbers on the crate in BIG BLACK marker pen), the box was missing a barcode sticker.- 16 replies

You would think so but from prior experience, couriers like Evi/hermes and Parcelforce and the like wriggle out of their commitments with all sorts of clauses and it gets ugly and difficult and they often dont reply for weeks at a time. They also don’t pay back their £90 or so shipping/insurance fees. Also thats kinda not the point. There is a stolen bass out there. It will resurface, of course, basses like this eventually always do, and as I’m refunding the buyer, and no certainty on any kind of recompense, I would very much like it back.

thank you I will do. I did "lose" a Peavey bass a couple of years ago sent to Belgium, it turned up in Belgium a couple of weeks later no worse for wear, after I had refunded the buyer -- but I had given up all chance of finding it.

It is this bass @skelf made it. I sold this bass and shipped it to the buyer in a custom wooden crate with the sender and the recipient address written in permanent marker to the front of the crate. The service was Parcelforce 24 Express. It was collected from my Dumfries and Galloway address (still house clearing) and it was scanned as picked up and made it to the regional Carlisle Office but it never reached the Hub. Parcelforce has declared it as lost. How you lose a crate is beyond me, I expect stolen, but I remain hopeful it gets delivered. There is no harmony engine native to UAD. That would be part of the Antares bundles running as ordinary plugins and not running in UAD’s low-latency environment. The version provided is this one which currently costs £229 in the UAD store. -

A few things added up to made it attractive to me was when I was looking to update, enhance and rebuild my pedalboard (I do the bass-into-punk-guitar thing for my two piece drums/bass punk “trio”) when I costed all the pedals required to achieve, it soon approached Quad Cortex money. Plusses: have four independent instrument inputs (for sharing among others) plus two Mic Pres. Plus the looper (for laying down a background riff) is good and simple and replaced a Looper. Its also a very good USB C sound interface so I could sell off the UAD Arrow audio interface which made it pretty much a lot cheaper than the cost of a Quad Cortex in the footprint of a Macbook Air and very very light. Biggest plus is I don’t really gig with amps and cabs anymore; stereo DI/Outs means I go into the PA, all setlist levels ready, in go the mics, in goes the bass tune up in the pedal, no amp lugging. Amps @ home — a couple of lightweight cubes — still too heavy for me to want to pay extra luggage fees.
