    Hi TAz

    Love the natural finish!

Did the Custom Shop '64 pickguard retrofitted or did you drill new screw holes?

    1.jpg

Hi, it really has fantastic natural grain and it's not easy to find with just 2 sections of ash. The pickguard was not present when I took it, the Custom Shop '64 was adapted to the holes already present, unfortunately the old owner I think had already adapted one and therefore it already looked like this. I just removed the little paint already present to make it totally natural.

Hi, are you sure the string spacing is 16.5? Seems awfully narrow to me! Thanks.

Hi my friend, on the 6 strings the strings space is narrower but for this reason it's very comfortable under the fingers. Overall it's a really well designed neck. The specifications are the ones that came to me with the bass, comparing it with the meter would seem correct. 😉

  3. Withdrawn at moment this awesome 1982 JV serial Squier Jazz Bass by Fender, Made in Japan.

Unfortunately, in comparison to other instruments left over the years, this bass has had significant costs to make it truly playable as it should 100%. So the price remains non negotiable. Thank you! 😉

A rare instrument of that vintage year with ash body (only 2 sections cutted in the center of the body examining the wood veins), maple neck and rosewood fretboard with abalone dots.

The serial is JV19216, model of September 1982, as also written on the plate attached to the body. Made in Japan with wood and parts coming directly from the United States.

Elixir 0.45-1.05 Nickel Coated Nanoweb strings have been included. With a nice low action.

Woods, hardware and electronics are completely original. Only the thick finish of the body has been removed (now he has a thin and natural oil finish that makes the wood sound good) and the frets are new, as is the tortoise-shell pickguard of a Custom Shop '64, the thumbrest and pickup covers that have been added but not featured in this model. The neck has not been repainted and it is completely original. The washers in the picture have been removed and a tilted maple heel has been created to allow the low action of the strings on the fretboard maintaining the contact between the neck and the body and therefore all the tonal characteristics and the sustain of the instrument.

    Perfectly working. Hard case included.

That would be a dream bass for me.

It's an awesome instrument and always very clean and dynamic in sound, unfortunately I already have 3 headless basses and 9 basses at home, unfortunately I am forced to "make space". If you need any information, don't hesitate to contact me...

i bought it with the pre amp installed  and it's aguilar obp-3 , bass and mid's are the best ... treble not so good !

Ok! When I bought this Steinberger an Aguilar OBP-3 had been installed, but I give you the reason, the sound on the high was not great, I installed this Sadowsky preamp which I like best and it has the possibility of active/passive mode, on the frequencies it plays very well.

  6. [NOW SOLDthis awesome Steinberger XQ-5, made in USA. Ash body, famous Graphite composite neck.

The serial is TN-16069, model XQSTD5CB, cherry burst, dated June 2, 1996, before of Steinberger by "Music Yo" with Moses neck.

Completely original except for the preamp which is a Sadowsky equivalent with the possibility of Active/Passive mode, purchased separately, and a screw at the top of the bolt-on which has been replaced and has a double battery compartment.

This model with the Bartolini has a really good attack but a more balanced and softer sound than the brothers with Duncan or EMG.

Perfectly working. Original soft case included.

Built in the famous Tennessee plant, under the supervision of Gibson who had taken over the company and who continued to use the components of the previous Q5 models. Definitely more aesthetically pleasing (for this reason in fact Gibson had imposed a change of products line), and lighter as it has an ash body, with a very firm and balanced sound, with woods supplied directly by Gibson stocks, they are in fact even better balanced compared to the previous Q models that instead have a maple body.

I have a 4 string Mikro and with the right gauge and scale length of strings on board, it’s a great budget bass. It’s also super light so makes a long rehearsal or gig a breeze. The neck profile widens out as you climb the neck so plenty room for fingers. The stock pups aren’t bad either. I have been tempted to pick up another as a fretless project 😎

Undoubtedly it's a very good 5 string although cheap, but it's really comfortable and it has a very defined Low-B string and a sound that marks every single note. You can do a concert without any problem! Personally, I noticed a better quality on the 5 strings Mikro and on the new satin-finished brown version, compared to the first mikro 4 strings I had in my hands.

Thanks for the reply. How do you find the super short scale across the fretboard?

Are the strings specific to this bass or simply in that length?

Hi! The strings were made both as an ideal custom gauge and as a length.
The bass is very comfortable and fast compared to a standard scale, but you have to get used to it for a few minutes. But after you fly 😂

Interesting. Is this at normal pitch or an octave up like the wingbass? Shame you’re  in Europe, I’m intrigued to try one of these now.

Hi, no, it's a standard 5 string bass from the low B to the G string, only short scale (28.6"), it has an excellent fifth string, defined and with an excellent attack, only the elasticity of the strings is slightly more rigid to the touch but very comfortable!
