Very nice! I have the white version and am very tempted to get another. This is the most roadworn one of these I have seen, did it come like this or did you do some extra waring yourself?

When I purchased it used it was already like this. If it’s been done by someone other than fender (assuming it was) it’s certainly been done well as there’s no rough edges. I love the bass but just fancy a change and freeing up a bit of cash wouldn’t go a miss as I’m now the proud owner of a T4 camper... expensive beasts

  2. Considering selling my Road Worn Mike Dirnt P bass.

Excellent condition with case and candy. Unfortunately one of the latches on the case is broken.

Would consider a cheaper p bass plus cash my way.

£750 and can post at buyers expense

Any questions please let me know.

    Thanks

    Iain

P.S. Will get some better pictures after I’ve finished work today!

  3. Hi all,

I’m considering selling my Maruszczyk Elwood as I could do with freeing up some cash.

Immaculate active/passive jazz bass. Hand made very high specification - Delano pick ups and 2 band eq. Push/pull active passive switch.   Never gigged - immaculate. Comes with a good quality generic hard case

    Based in Blyth, Northumberland.

Can post fully insured if required.

Would consider a cheaper jazz plus cash part ex.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

    Thanks

    Iain

  4. Hi lads, cheers for all the responses. Seriously considering binning off my Aguilar for one of the tech21 heads. Also fancy changing my cab out for something with a bit more bite. The barefaced supertwin is beautiful but it’s such a flat response and I barely get my amp above 9 o’clock in most gigs I play! Decisions, decisions!

  5. Evening all,

i have this niggling issue around my bass head. It’s a TH500 and it’s great. I run it through a barefaced super twin.

I play in a green day tribute band and it doesn’t have that high end that I really want. I’m not sure if it’s the head or the cab.

When I borrowed a friends orange terror bass head I absolutely loved it and I’ve never got close to that since.

Should I consider a hybrid head? If so which one? Should I stop being a Richard and get on with it?

    please help!

  6. Hi all,

So I have 3 basses, all of which are P’s.

My issue is that my Mike Dirnt roadworn is the lowest output out of all of them.

My 2003 MIM P is very loud and overly low end heavy (I didn’t even think that was possible!)

The final bass seems about where I would like it and has a cheap powered by lace pickup in it.

So I guess my question is, how do you all deal with varying pickup outputs?

I love my Mike Dirnt and playing in a Green Day tribute band it seems silly not to have one. However, I played a gig last night and didn’t even use it due to the lack of output.

Am I being naive in just looking at the pickups and should I be looking at wiring looms and more detailed components as well?

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Cheers for the comments all. Really looking forward to getting it!

Had a genuine need for a backup bass due to playing in two tunings and the thought of only having two basses with me was slightly terrifying.

Just didn’t expect to win it for what I paid. Now I need a decent gig bag for it. Another wanted ad coming up...

  8. Well... thanks for @only4 I received a lovely Barefaced Super Twin in the post on Friday. Just had it at practice this evening and I’m over the moon. Paired with my TH500 and my newly acquired dark glass b3k v2 (I’ve been a bit naughty, my lass doesn’t know!) it sounds bloody fantastic. Thanks all for your input. Here’s hoping my cab woes are behind me. Honestly can’t believe how good it sounds. And it’s so light!

I don't expect Mike Dirnt has to carry his cabs up the back stairs of a social club, or through a crowd of drunken punters and past a taxi rank to where his hatchback is parked on double yellow lines with the hazards on.

    Just sayin'

Yep, no roadies unfortunately! Plus, for the price of a fender neo 610, which is what he’s currently using I believe, I can get pretty much any cab as I think they’re around £1000!

  10. Hi all,

Troubled individual seeking all in one cab. Please help.

I play in a Green Day tribute band, playing venues ranging from very small to open air very large.

I had an orange OB1 500, an Aguilar DB115 and 210 but they just weren’t doing it for me, on both sound and weight/size.

So I’ve bought an Aguilar TH500 and require a suitable cab to accompany.

At the moment I’m between Vanderkley and Barefaced.

    Any thoughts? Anything I’m missing?

Unfortunately in the North East there’s very little to try in the shops (at least I can’t think of anywhere) so I’m reliant upon you fine folks.

Answers on a postcard, or just below.

    Cheers!
