  1. @EBS_freakdo you still have your A12t's? Still use them? I saw on the old thread you preferred them to the N8s
  2. Anyone had any experience with the 64 Audio N8s? Now they're probably way over my budget but are designed as custom models by a bassist and singer. I also have just dug out the email address of a 64 rep I got given at a festival about 5 years ago so hopefully he still works there and I can tap him up for an artist deal 🥸
  3. Thanks for the detailed response! I see the custom IEM company has universal demo units. Might make an appointment to head down and listen to some options and get my impressions done from them. Definitely wouldn't be wanting to go lower than quads 🤠
  4. Alright lads. I've ploughed through this thread after rinsing the previous one and going through the OP with a fine toothed comb. We're revisiting the IEM option a decade after being offered an artist deal with JH but deciding to stick with floor wedges and sidefills as we liked a loud stage sound and were playing bigger stages and festivals 🙈 I'm hoping to shift my Skunkworks SVT head to finance, so should have a healthy budget. Probably will go wired first just to get used to it. Have we any other opinions on Lugs? I know your man a few pages back wasn't keen but everything else I've read has been really positive. For the price of his Pro 10s (£950) you would be paying a lot more for the equivalent amount of drivers - 10 driver JH Pro 16s (£1800) or 9 driver 64 Audio N8 (£1494). Is there a law of diminishing returns for drivers? How much better will a 10 driver IEM be over say a 6 driver one? I'm singing for around 50% of our set so would want something that has good midrange and high end as well as giving me plenty of punch (not too fussed about something proper subby). Any opinions/advice appreciated. Thanks 🫡
  5. Giving this an annual bump 😍 Deserves to be played regularly and go to another good home. Make me a sensible offer.
  6. Another wee bump. Sold my Berg last weekend. The ampless iem rig is getting ordered imminently. Make me an offer! 😎
  7. Sorry guys my fault for not checking this! I will be back down to Leeds in approx 3 weeks
  8. Believe the hype. This was the amp I lusted over for years. Would keep it forever if I could justify this but alas, like a ginger stepchild, it's been ignored for years 😭
  9. Going to.drop the price down to £700 as these JH Audio IEMs are calling my name. Happy to arrange collection with the buyer.
  10. Plenty of love for this behemoth. Make me an offer as its going to make way for an iem setup
  11. Plenty of love for this behemoth. Make me an offer as its going to make way for an iem setup 😢
  12. Hello and welcome to what is one of the most desirable and sought amps of all time! You are looking at an all original (apart from valves) 1987 SVT SKUNKWORKS head made in the USA. It is number 85/500 so a nice low number. Condition is really good for its age and its spent the period I owned her in a flightcase which is included in the sale. I am going to be in Leeds over the next month or 2 quite regularly so happy to arrange collection. Was last serviced in 2015 but no issues since and probably about 30hrs of studio only time since. Happy to listen to sensible offers. Any other photos or questions let me know! Here's some backstory from Mr NJW who I bought this from. Also some examples of this badboy in a mix on record. https://open.spotify.com/track/3ATjVGcOgI4XfESEGV3afi?si=mIImKIyHQTiT9Tcy-Oo0Mg https://open.spotify.com/track/2NEEFeMJLOq6wvaCrN8UYF?si=_E8gHYcFRAiLf4PIqSddXQ https://open.spotify.com/track/62CnqrkAfh6XjWpMBlCz2I?si=08jTe2KiQluLJDL46gFJGQ https://open.spotify.com/track/2eZK1y2XkwVQr14ecaSl2r?si=Lu24VEE3QayckisUJeHgPA
  13. Bumping this since we're coming out of lockdown. This badboy is back up for sale. Also listing a grail amp, an Ampeg SVT 'Skunkworks'
  14. Some man Pentode. They are indeed to my ears the best cabs money can buy unless you are a pop n giggle merchant. Moving to an ampless in ear set up now. Had great fun having my trousers flapped by this and my SVT over the years!
  15. Make me an offer guys. This has to go as I'm no longer playing large venues 😓 Gonna be listing a Skunkworks SVT in the next couple weeks too 😫
  16. This badboy is back up for sale! Heading down to Leeds again the 2nd weekend in Feb so can deliver en route or meet up nearby 🤶
  17. Payday for most folk today let's grab a bargain 🤩
  18. Darkglass Microtubes X Mutiband Bass Drive Pedal bought this from the Gentleman Kev 2 weeks ago. Only selling as a mate has just sold me his X7 for a good price. Literally took me 2 mins to dial in 'the tone in my head' which was a midheavy distorted tone with a huge bottom end. Condition is mint and basically wouldn't tell it was 2nd hand and comes with box and manual etc. Distorting bass has always been a very challenging engineering endeavour. In order to achieve a punchy and aggressive distortion, that is also full and fat-sounding, you really need to reconcile two contradicting conditions. The tightness comes from attenuating bass frequencies before saturation, which will also result in a very thin signal, however boosting the lows can also result in additional, unwanted fuzz. To solve this paradox, audio engineers have been using multiband distortions in the studio for a few decades now. The Microtubes X is our solution to this issue, but in a very compact form and just right for your pedalboard. The audio is split by two variable low-pass and high-pass filters at the very start of the signal chain. The high-pass signal (mostly the mid and treble tones) is distorted using CMOS circuitry, just like our other Microtubes pedal circuits. The low pass-signal (all bass) is left untouched. This lets the high frequencies be all crunch, attack and full of rich harmonics, all while mixing back in the undistorted lows to add gargantuan size to the overall mix. The result is virtually unlimited fullness, size, aggression and definition, regardless of how old the strings are or even if your instrument is just boomy or thin sounding. The Microtubes X offers all of this in a compact form with very few controls to tweak, making it almost impossible to dial in a wrong tone. (resusing Kev's original post and pic - original link here:
  19. Thanks guys 😎 2nd hand prices are getting crazy so it's a no brainer to try it out as you can flip it for at least the same as you paid 👍🏼
