1.
Cool. Let me know when the CD is out. I'll buy a copy.
That would be great - we'd appreciate the support! In the meantime you can hear the full works here for a limited period: https://holymatrimony.bandcamp.com/ Hope you like it
2. Cheers BigRedX - the full EP is available to stream now for a bit before a physical release at the end of March. CD for now due to expense, but I'd personally love to do a vinyl release. Good to see vinyl coming back in a big way.
3. Evening everyone, my band HOLY MATRIMONY (the caps is part of the name!) release our new E.P. on the last day of March, with a North-West mini tour to coincide. It's entirely self produced but we had it mastered by Pete Maher who's added a nice level of sheen to things. It's all melodic indie-synth/pop, all drum machine and programming but that's as far as the step sequencing goes, all the keys are played by our singer and of course there's real guitar and bass on there. Obviously there's nothing online just yet, but we made a DIY video for one of our tracks ourselves and you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evalnENYdu4 See what you think! It's not very rock n' roll but it's all good tuneful stuff, and unashamedly pop. Cheers!
4. I sold my MXR M80, BBE Opto Stomp and some assorted modulation/delay effects (Small Stone, Hardwire DL-8 and the like) and picked up a B3 on here for £100 which near-enough nails the sounds I need. So I basically swapped a few pedals for a 'one-box' solution and made myself £100 odd! I still use single stompboxes for overdrive and I prefer my Pitchblack tuner to the built-in B3 tuner, but aside from that the B3 covers my compression and EQ needs just fine.
5. Another victim who has found out too late here... I've requested a refund so we'll see how that goes. I've had the strings in my case (in their packaging) for a month for when the time comes to restring. After I found this thread I had a look, and lo and behold: poor windings by the ball end, sharp ends sticking out etc. Really disappointed, I thought I'd got a steal at £20 for a set! Lessons learned etc.
6. Finally got my arse in gear and got my latest band up and running with some material online. All self-produced in our makeshift "studio" (living room). Done a couple of tracks thus far (though more are in the offing); U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday (really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday...) and You Will Find, which is our own (couldn't resist the opportunity for a bit of slap bass on this one). They're both available for free download Check us out and see what you think! https://holymatrimony.bandcamp.com/ And our Facebook, of course... https://www.facebook.com/holymatrimonyuk Cheers all!
7. Wow... keep coming back to this to look! If only I had the money/payday was sooner. Have a bump.
8. Another vote for the Zoom B3. Like having 3 pedals you can chop/change when you feel like it stored into patches for each song you do in your set. I use mine at the end of my effects chain for stuff that's not covered by my 'real' pedals, or when I feel like looking for something more experimental that I can't justify buying a stand-alone pedal for (sequencer/slicer type stuff, modulation etc).
9. Bought a DOD Octoplus from Gaz- 100% guy and a real pleasure to do business with. Cheers!
10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/57-GUITAR-EFFECT-PEDAL-OCD-ULTIMATE-DRIVE-WHITE-/251846750877?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3aa33c729d What's a "57 guitar pedal" and why is it explicitly showing pics of a Fulltone OCD? Surely that's not right, even for a clone...?
11. My new board is taking shape. Got a Boss SYB-3 and an NF-1 for sale on eBay which didn't make the cut for this board. Ditched the idea of running my synth through it with an A/B switch as it's just too much hassle. Nothing too fancy on there, the Nobels is a great pedal (for £12 on eBay!) and nails the overdrive sound I need for my band. The Mooer Ana Echo I don't really need, but is occupying that space for the time being. The Shimverb is great though. The Raygun Bass Driver is my 'slightly less driven' OD pedal and I use that for a Sansamp-style grit/boost. The Zoom B3 does a very good job of replicating my old MXR M80, with a compressor on one of the slots. Sounds great. The Sansamp slot on the Zoom (middle screen) is being changed as I don't really use that. Plenty of options on this thing. The board itself is 4 Poundland coat hooks (obviously with the hooks themselves unscrewed and binned!) stuck together with No More Nails and spray painted black. Does the job! 12. Norman Connors' Starship Orchestra are (almost) the same- right down to some slightly different arrangements of the same tunes. Both great bands. Celestial Sky is a great album, as is Fantasy by Aquarian Dream. Two of my favourites.
