  1. Hi Rayman, yes, you are right about both observations
  2. Pretty much yes. I have done the same thing to my 4-string music man, with the exception that the body is heavy enough to not need any more weight to balance ok.
  3. I am selling this Dean 6-string fretted bass as I've only played 4-string for many years now. It is in decent shape and has not been played that much, although it has some ugly modifications...which are: The circle cutout in the back of the bass contains lead pellets and epoxy resin. This was done to make the bass balance better as the body is very light. I added a strap attachment point as shown. It makes the bass lean forward and means less angle for the left hand to try and reach around; probably not for everyone. The cutout between the pickups is so that strings can be muted with the thumb under the strings, which is a method I've always preferred. Electronics and pickups are unmodified. Cash and collection only from North London please. I have a little guitar amp for testing purposes. Can also provide a gig bag which is in bad shape but will let you take it home safely. Strap included. This bass was purchased new for about £400.
  4. Bump and pricedrop: Am willing to sell the 1x15 for £200. However, the head stays at £700. Cheers, Bjorn
  5. Thanks Alex! Hope the cab does what you wanted it to, and that the girlfriend didn't freak out! Still have the 400+ head...for that next paycheck;) Alex is of course a very decent chap himself! To be trusted in any dealings.
  6. The 4x10 has now been sold, so obviously the rig as a whole is no longer available. Prices for head and 1x15 remain at 700 and 250.
  7. Price drop: 400+ head: £700 1x15 cab: £250 4x10 cab: £250 Cheers! Bjorn
  8. In response to a question (and something I should have included anyway), both cabs are 8 Ohm.
  9. Have reluctantly decided to split this rig. Am willing to sell for: 400+ bass head: £750 1x15 cab: £300 4x10 cab: £300 Would still much prefer to sell cash on collection so that any buyer has the chance to test and inspect, but I will consider shipping as long as the buyer is willing to pay for and arrange for collection. Payment would need to be in full before anything is collected, and actual collection date and time window needs to be agreed. Cheers! Bjorn
  10. Happy New Year All!! Last chance to get this whole rig for £1200, am about to split this into individual units. Bjorn
  11. Thanks for the compliment and the interest. I'm still trying to sell this rig as complete so not yet willing to give individual prices.
  12. shameless bump. Feel like it would be a crime to split this rig, but I will if I have to.
  13. Thanks Big Rob! Yes, this is a collection only sale for a very good reason. Having said that, the head is still a one man lift, just a very heavy lift! A cheaper 4U plastic flightcase would make it more manageable, but I wouldn't call that 'tour grade'.
  14. For some reason the editor doesn't allow me to change the price. I am now asking for £1200 for the whole rig. Hi All, I'm selling this rig since it is simply too big for me these days, and it's time it went to someone else. I've had it for about 7 years. During my time it has seen very little touring use, and mostly used just once a week for rehearsals. The head is in good cosmetic condition and is fully working. The valves (preamp and power) are all a matched set by Harma from Watford Valves. A few of the graphic EQ sliders are a bit stiff, but nothing major. I will say that there is a slight buzz/hum on the output which is constant even with the master level down. I believe this to be normal for this head, since it is all valve, but I have never used another 400+ head so I do not actually know. It does not get better or worse when swapping out valves. It has never been an actual problem for recording or live work. It comes with the original Mesa Boogie shock mount flightcase. The 4x10 cab has a tweeter, switchable hi/low/off. The input socket is a bit bent but works fine. The front cover has one catch which is missing its 'butterfly' handle, and is now permanently in the 'closed' position. In practice it is not a problem since when you put the lid on you simply start with that side and bring the lid in at an angle. All drivers and the tweeter are working. Removable wheels. The 1x15 also works and has removable wheels, but the design of it is with a front grille cover rather than a removable lid. It has an NL2 input connector. I'm including 2x speaker leads to go from the head to the cabs. This rig is available for cash sale only and collection only from North London (Brent Cross, Staples Corner area). I am aware that this is my first post, so you are welcome to try the rig out to make sure it works before parting with any money. Hope this rig finds a good new home!
