1. Danny is a pleasure to deal with. He was very honest with the issues the Trace cabs had and he even included some speaker cables - which he did not have to do. Nice one mate! Cheers, Andy :-)

2. Thankyou guys! I'm glad you like this one! I have pretty much hung up my solo bass hat these days! There are far too many amazing YouTube warriors shredding on their instrument of choice, it has become some kind of technicality competition that will never stop!
The bigger challenge is utilising technical ability into decent songwriting, playing what is needed; when it is needed (if needed at all) and learning to hold back at times! I think this is what makes us better musicians. I also wanna keep writing instrumental "songs" that attempt to have a voice without actual vocals.

3. Hi Guys,

Sorry it has been a while but recently moved out to my own flat and internet access was not an option for a long financial while :'-( been living on stale bread and pot noodle.......boo hoo

Below YT link is the first music video I have produced in a while with the inclusion of my electric guitar skills (or lack of). This piece is called 'Dark Matter' and is about Devolution.

Much love to all my bass bros,
I hope all is good in the hood!

Cheers,

4. Here is a song I wrote about a good friend I lost to drug addiction. This song is entitled 'Sordid Road' and it is very personal to me as it also touches on my own battles.

(Lyrics are on the video description)

Like all my music this song began on a bass guitar and added everything else around the my bass idea first.

This song is taken from my 4th album 'Blood, Sweat & Years" track preview and album review here:

Hope you guys can dig it!

5. Thanks Kev,

Yes that is me singing, I wanted to get a different singer on each song but majority wanted paying - which I couldn't really afford with taking time off work to do this record. So I thought what hell, i'll give it a shot! I know I'm not the best singer but it came out better than I thought it would.

cheers

6. Hi Guys,

This is my 4th solo release, 11 track album entitled "Blood, Sweat & Years". Bit different from my last 3 releases.

5 songs are Instrumental and 6 Songs have vocals.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jr8wvhHfHOA&feature=youtu.be

All songs originated on the bass and then developed in the studio.

Cheers,
Andy

7. Hello my Bass Brothers & Sisters!

I'm hoping you all had a great Xmas and I want to take this i opportunity to wish you all a very happy new year!

Please checkout my latest YouTube video for my new song "Pretty Puppets"
This is the first time I have incorported my vocals onto any of my solo bass work so please be kind :-)

A little background to this song:

This song is about the current business platform that exists for many major labels to maximise profit! as you can see on my YouTube comments some people didn't unserstand and thought I was talking about general business men in the music industry - which i am not! This is directed only at a particular type that are ruining the development of real Artists/Bands who write their own music, artists who are a complete representation of their own product - because they made it!

This song is from my 4th solo release "Blood, Sweat & Years" which will be out soonish on iTunes and from my websites store!

Not my thing, in all fairness, but I can't deny your playing is fantastic - I know I couldn't replicate it in a million years. Great work, extremely creative, two thumbs and and a few toes up from me :)

I completely understand that not everyone will enjoy my music, in fact I couldn't listen to an album of bass playing like mine from start to finish! but I do this because I enjoy the process; and I wanna push my ability further and further. Hopefully I can inspire younger aspiring musicians to NOT pick up drums or guitar as their first instrument and give Bass a good go! :-)

Cheers,
Andy

Absolutely stunning playing from you as always, Andy. I don't know where to start... it's technically excellent and compsosition itself is really engaging.

I love the triplet parts around the one minute mark. Nice, meaty tone on the bass. Very nice drum programming too. Clever stuff!

Look forward to the album.

THANKYOU!

I know my stuff is not for everyone but it is nice to hear when it is!

cheers mate!

Wow! You must have very strong fingers! How do you get taps to sound so authoritative?
I have a very low action, I don't hit the bass too hard and I ride my input gain high into my pre amps / compressors. No doubt it would not sound as leveled without my outboard fx.

I hate tapping and I hate slapping. BUT! and it's a big BUT, these are amazing. Really original and I love all the rhythm changes. Great work! :hi:
Thanks, that means a lot coming from someone with your opinion! I dislike a lot of generic slap and tapping but I try to focus more on the songwriting aspect - with rhythmic displacement playing a large part! HOWEVER a large part of my next album is very much easy listening/relaxing and less techy. :)

12. Sorry I have not been on here for a while guys!

I am now 100% a solo musician, so after my day job, then in the evening recording and writing till I fall asleep; I don't have much time for anything else.

ANYWAY!

Here are my most recent YouTube uploads from my next full length album - 'BLOOD, SWEAT & YEARS' and I am currently selling ALL my last 3 releases - EOTT, Drum & Bass, LOOM + 1 Tabliture ALL for only 10 pounds from my website - WWW.ANDYSAXTON.COM

Cheers Guys,
