You do realise, I hope, that you have the blueprint for “perfect basschat wife” right there ? the most used phrase around these parts is “if I can sneak another one past..” followed by “well she does have a lot of shoes/handbags/kittens”
you can quote meNow 3D print her

My missus had been after a conservatory for a while. I finally agreed when I realised that with soundproof (ish) glass, conservatories make great places for practising.
In spring and autumn I leave a couple of basses in overnight but I can't do that in summer or winter.
I mainly use my GK Legacy into the Super Midget, but sometimes I'll fire up the Fusion S through the Barefaced 10s
Do you have curtains or blinds ? I would not leave nice stuff on show like that
at least not around these parts

What utter rubbish. Like @goonerjoesaid, when is the new cab arriving ? This is basschat, you should have bought one, plus a spare, just on seeing the picture from @M@23 above. Freaking newbies….

When my talent level demands it, I’ll shift to a five. Luckily I think I’m safe until 2351.

@FinnDave apologies for the slight derail but could you tell me what meds those are?

Hello there everyone, I wanna ask you all one very serious and important question because I really need help - It's about straightening the neck before levelling and crowning the frets. So if I don't have a notched straightedge is it possible, will it work and can I do it this way - using 4 little cylinder pieces like putting one on the 1st, two on the 8th and the 10th in the middle of the fingerboard, and one on the 20,22 or 24th fret, and then putting a normal perfectly flat straightedge over them and tightening the truss rod little by little until it touches the middle two cylinders so that way this to show me, and tell me that the neck is perfectly straight and flat? see the image down below:
Why not just use a string ? Capo on fret 1

Were you interested in or enthusiastic about what he was trying to teach? Most teachers are more than happy to help anyone who's keen but finding it difficult. It's easy to blame teachers.
I was very interested. Mr berris wasn’t the kind of teacher that you think

My teacher was useless, he was only interested in the gifted kids and made no effort to help or guide anyone lesser. I hated every millisecond of it.

That’s a bit guitar centric I would think - heavy metal preset not massively useful on semi acoustic bass

There’s a ten position tone switch you can get that has various caps in it- that might work ? varitone?

Perfect, now you can glare at people who don’t match your idea of time, since you alone are the sole arbiter

If you lose your place, turn down your volume pot to very low till you work out what to do.
watch the guitarist’s hand so you can figure out what chord he is on and that might jog you into place. Obviously don’t look for too long as you’ll either barf, or worse, turn into a guitard- 1

Also Michael timmins from the cowboy junkies does all his gigs on a chair

Take them to court. A small claim will cost you about £35 and is worth doing. It shows you’re serious and also that you won’t settle for less.
When they settle (which they will) they’ll pay your costs back. I run a small business and have done this several times.
It’s 110£ these days
edit I stand corrected by @fretmeister - likely between £35 & £80 depending on your fee and losses

As it says in the title I'm currently struggling to decide on what I want in a new bass. I've been looking at more modern style active basses and have narrowed it down to 3 (4 that is a bit of a stretch £ wise):
Ibanez SR305
Ibanez SR306
Jackson JS3V
Ibanez Bass Workshop SRFF806 (this is 200 more than the other 3 so is very much a stretch)
I'm looking to get into chordal and soloing style playing so would be stringing the 5's with a high C. I've found a steal on the SR305 but I'm wondering if I'm giving up much over the Jackson with the active/passive and coil split functions or the 6's with keeping the low B and still getting the high C I'm looking for.
Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Or advice for someone wanting to get into high C or 6 string bass? There’s a great value white aria 5 in marketplace right now.
not mine btw

I'm fortunate enough to have a man-cave/studio/office daaaaaaaaaan the bottom of the garden, so naturally have rammed it fully of crap. Does mean that I can blast through the Marshall VBA at full volume or smash the drums to pieces without anyone hearing/caring!
Usually though, it'll be an ACG 6 of some sort through a Helix and into an Epifini UL901 and Bergantino 410. 👍
Holy French connection uk …
spoiled by the toy basses though

Since when on basschat does having exactly no horse in the race prevent anyone from speaking their mind about those horses loudly ?
