I’ve had two BBG5s. Loved em both and regret selling. Would pick one up for sure if one popped up!

I’ve just bought a HX Stomp XL from Ian. It’s as described, coms were perfect and it was well packaged. Deal with confidence!

That looks lovely mate. That Okume (spelling?) body looks like a lighter version of Mahogany!

Just played the Black Frog in Chelmsford last weekend and Nick (the promoter) was talking about JV and Del having played there (recently I assume), so presumably with you.
yeah that’s right - I was there!

Anyone know what the string to string distance is on the fivers?

Can I ask what the app was, please @King Tut
So I think different desks have different apps. His was an Allen and Heath desk and the app was SQ4You. Our drummer says he’s got about seven apps on his phone for various desks!

We did Backstage at The Green in Kinross a few weeks ago (both the the Friday and the Saturday). It turned out to be really good weekend.
I played at the The Boot and Shoe in Greystoke a few years ago. A tiny pub, but quite good fun in the end (and a great Sunday lunch after the gig)!
We’ve literally just left Greystoke on the road to Kinross. We decided to break the journey there and have our meal and breakfast rather than post gig tomorrow - was lovely. Had a look at the band area and it’s going to be very intimate! Who did you play at Greens with?

Nice - just restrung and set mine up - did my first ever gig with one of these!

Played in Ramsgate last night with Verity Bromham. Had Kev Hickman depping on drums who did a marvellous job. I tried an XVive in ear unit that John lent me along with my rig. The engineer pointed me to an app to put on my phone and I set up my own monitor mix - bloody amazing. Journey home was a nightmare due to road closures, road out of Ramsgate was shut as was the M25, A1 and M1. Bolleaux! Got halfway home and realised I’d left my house and car keys at the venue. So I had to leave my car at Johns, get Del to go right out of his way to drive me home then wake the misses up at 3am to get in! Why the funk do I do this?!! Was a cracking gig though!

I’ve got three gigs coming up with The Verity Bromham band. On Thursday we’ll be at The Red Arrows Club in Ramsgate. Saturday we’re at Backstage at The Green in Kinross, then on the way back on Sunday we’ll be stopping off at Penrith for a 4 pm gig at The Boot and Shoe, Greystoke.

I’ve got an SR305 which is the five string version. I bloody love it. It’s light, resonant and sounds great.

RIP Nick. I dealt with him several times - lovely fella.

I acquired an Epi pro IV in white recently in a trade - equivalent to about £250. I’ve always loved the look but was convinced I’d scratch the itch and move it on. As @NancyJohnson said - negligible neck dive and it’s one of my lightest basses in a 20 odd bass collection. I was lucky to pick one up so cheaply. Side dots disappeared in the dark - easily fixed with some Graph-Tech dots and the only issue I have with it really is access to the dusty end when I’m standing up. Got some gigs with Verity Bromham this month and might well use her on those - don’t really stray up the dusty end in that combo!

Nothing against these per se; I played Gary's for a bit and it was fine, but always felt the geometry on the Epiphones was out compared with the original. I know many will see this as nitpicking, but if you're going to make/reproduce/copy a faithful replica, then then should be doing that (much like they're trying to do with all the Les Pauls, Explorers, Vs and SGs). About the only area where the body looks correct is the forearm bout. The other three corners are skewed; the lower horn has always been short/stubby and the upper neck joint and control corner, smoothed out/rounded.
Maybe that’s why (at least in my case) the Epi’s don’t seem to be so renowned for massive neck dive? Could they have changed the geometry to improve the ergos?

Welcome fella! I love a bit of Sabbath too!

No skunk stripe though, and what is the deal with the TRC?
Chickenbacker perhaps?Truss Rod Cover and scratch plate came from his band mate’s bass that his mate played in the band ‘Tobruk’ apparently!

Ricks for main and support acts last night. Me on the left hamming it up with support band ‘Thr3e’s’ Dom Rentle. Not sure what Dom’s is but mines a 77 Burgundyglo 4001.

Played at The Craufurd Arms with Stray last night supported by Bedford’s Thr3e. Really good home crowd and good sound thanks to our recently acquired sound engineer Stuart. I took my 77 Ric into a Bugera MOSFET and Eden 4x10. I always struggle to get a decent on stage bass tone at that venue but apparently it sounded great out front (thanks James!). Cart and Horses in London to come next Saturday!

Hi, my preference is to sell this but you know how it is if something interesting comes along!! Let me know if you have something in mind though I wouldn’t be looking at 5 strings or effects thanks. Cheers
Thanks - I'll get in touch via pm in the next day or so.
