Dating my G&L

Cheers for the speedy replies guys. Turns out it was born on 2nd October 1996.
4. Not in a romantic way. I need to raise some cash to buy a keyboard and I've come to the conclusion that my L2000, as much as I love it, has to go. Before putting it up, I really need to find out when it was made. The G&L site only gives info on basses built up to 1992. Mine's dinfintely a later model but has a three bolt neck. Any G&L aficionados able to help me out? Cheers
5. Brian Robinson from A Wilhelm Scream is one of my favourite bass players at the moment. He always makes his stingray shine through with some super fast playing. I saw Face to Face at Leeds fest earlier this summer and their bass player Scott Shiflett (brother of Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters) completely blew me away. I'd forgotten how good he is. Karl Alvarex from The Descendents is also a great player. He gets a lot of stick, but Fat Mike from NOFX has influenced my own playing from a really early age.
6. First Bass: Encore P bass Got to bass: Fender Geddy Lee jazz Your Bass: EB Stingray (3EQ)
7. I've played this bass and it's totally ace. Jimmy is a good dude so buy with confidence.
8.
There were punk bands in the 90's???!!
One or two. All fairly small and insigificant though.
9. I don't hate Green Day. Dookie pretty much got me into all the good 90's punk bands like The Descendents, Screeching Weasel, Crimpshine, Mr T Experience etc. They are totally a different band these days I agree but give me Kerplunk over any of Nirvanas back catalogue any day of the week.
10. I just got Sansamp off Iain which arrived a couple of days ago. It's in immaculate condition and is just as described. An all round good bloke to deal with. Thanks!!

13.
wicked live. saw them at the basement in leeds a few years back. got very drunk and pumped a hottie. good night in all.
I went to that Hanson Brothers gig too. Didn't pump a hottie though. Ice Hockey punx FTW.
14. Pretty much every band I'm friends with use The Old Chappel in Holbeck. The guys that run it are top blokes and its totally reasonable pricewise. The Kaiser Chiefs used to practise down there but dont let that put you off www.myspace.com/theoldchapel
15. Either of the Streetlight Manifesto records have some really sweet bass on them. 'Everything Goes Numb' probably has the better songs though. +1 on the latest Wilhelm Scream album too.
16. The guy playing double bass for Imelda May is pretty awesome though. +1 on Katy Perry being crap.
17. Hey, My friends are putting this gig on and my new band are playing this as our first ever gig. Any Basschatters willing to lend me a bit of moral support would be awesome!! So......Saturday 18th October at The Faversham, Leeds. The Nightmarchers - All the way from San Diego featuring the legendary Speedo of Rocket From the Crypt, Hot Snakes and Drive Like Jehu. They play a sweet mix of rock n roll, surf and punk rock. Guaranteed awesomeness. That F***ing Tank - Two men playing grooves loudly. Totally ace. The Dead Reckoning - First gig. Rock n roll with horns. Influenced by the likes of The Bronx, The Sonics, Costello and The Peepshows. I'll be playing the modded Geddy I just bought off johnnylager. Cant wait!! Its £8 on the door and doors should be about 7.30.
18. If this hasn't sold by Sunday, I might just have to buy it myself. Been after a nice Geddy for ages.
19.
It is indeed that trans blue L2K - she's waiting on some TI flats and then she'll be just perfect - heavy beast, mind, nearly 11lbs. Dunno what wood it is, but it strikes me as heavier than your average Swamp Ash or Alder bass - i'll take a shot of the grain and let u guys decide maybe The L1500 has been an eye opener - bought it 'cos it was a US model and all i could afford at the time. Came strung with roundwounds and combined with the harsh preamp made it a bit of a turn-off. Wasn't even sure i wanted to keep it. Took a chance with a set of TI flats, and did the resistor mod on the preamp and all of a sudden it was like a different bass. G&L really need to review this model - with a few tweaks here and there it could be a good seller for them, rather than just a 'little bastard' brother to the L2K. As far as ASATs go, i want one because i saw Karl Alvarez from Descendents/ALL (one of my influences) play one - simple as that This is a good thread, but potentially not good for my bank balance
That's as good a reason as any to get one. Alvarez is one of my all time favourite bass players
20. Out of interest, how much do second hand ASATs go for at the moment? I'm hunting for a Geddy but if an ASAT came up, I would 100% reconsider.
21. Brian from A Wilhelm Scream is awesome. He plays mad bass lines and still nails al those vocal harmonies too. I think the Joe Raposo from Rich Kids on LSD is once of my favourite punk bass players. All time favourite would have to be Karl Alvarez from The Descendents.
