  1. Just traded a Stingray 5 for Tom's 75 RI US Jazz- incredibly friendly and easy guy to arrange a deal with. No hassle, easy communication and super nice guy. Thanks, Tom!
  2. Why does this bass look familiar? Has it always had that scratchplate? Great looking bass, though!
  3. Done a bit of dealing with Carsten in the past-good guy, buy with confidence! GLWTS!
  4. Wie gehts James, I would wonder, besides any possible change to the signal having to do with wiring, how the location of the P pickup with a J would compare to a straight P setup. T
  5. So, after running a LM III and traveller 121h for some function work for the last year or so, I decided that I wanted to augment the setup with an additional 12" cab for outdoor gigs and spaces where I needed to move just a bit more air. In an effort to consolidate my rig and keep things portable, I decided to try out a cmd 121p combo (one of the older, LMII equipped models) and use the combo+ extension cab. Wow, this is one amazing little combo! Not perfect but the bang for your buck is incredible! Coupled with the Traveller 121, it makes an incredibly tight and portable little stack. The adjustable horn on the traveller definitely helps balance out the whole package. I'm totally sold. I can't help but think of setups I've had in the last 20 years or so and wonder at how I can get the tone I'm getting out of something that won't kill me to haul home at 4:00am... If you're curious and in the market for a lightweight combo, you should be looking into these as a possible option.
  6. Hi Scooby, I think that if we can arrange a meet up this weekend at some point, I'm in. I'll be around Langley Mill/Eastwood for most of the weekend. Thanks, Travis
  7. Hmmm…will be visiting the in-laws in Derbyshire this weekend. Tempting. Whereabouts are you located in Derbyshire?
  8. Something tells me that the number of pics with no stacked knobs implies no East. Still, a great price!
  9. Woah, if it comes with the East as well...what a deal!!!
  10. Hi all, Up for sale is my MIM Jazz V, recently purchased as a bit of an experiment from fellow member Andy67 (great guy to do some business with, btw). Having never owned a Jazz, I thought I'd give it a go and I am now hooked. Selling this one on as I've saved up some pennies for an upscale active Jazz V and it's the old 'one in, one out' routine. When I purchased it, I thought that the low B lacked a little definition but after a setup and new strings it sang much more clearly. Following this, I put in some Bartolini 57J1 pickups and the tone is sweet with a clean, clear low B. From the serial, I would say that it is a 2009 with the 4+1 headstock. One ding near the control plate (pictured) but all in all, it's pretty clean. I have also rewired the bass as V/B/T with a Bourns blend w/center detent. No drop in signal in any position. I also took this as an opportunity to experiment with tone capacitor values and found that I preferred a smaller value tone cap (currently have a .022 ceramic cap installed). If you have never played around with this or are unfamiliar with the effect, a smaller cap value results in a less dark tone roll off when the tone knob is moved off of it's maximum value position (other descriptions might vary). All wiring done to a professional standard (in a former life, pre-music career, I was a Nuclear Electronic Technician submariner in the USN) and I used cloth insulated wire for all added wiring. Cloth covered wiring not due to any particular vintage fetish, I just had some handy and enjoy working with it... All original parts- vol pot and MIM pickups will be included in the sale. Will also come with a tired but functional hard case. I have my eye on a couple of things already and would prefer a straight sale over trades. Cash or bank transfer should do the trick and while I'm happy to ship at the buyer's expense, I would prefer collection in SE London or I'll meet halfway, distance and scheduling permitting. Thanks for looking!
