      Yeah it is disappointing. As an exhibitor I like a bass only show, as it means that I can be sure everybody walking past my booth is interested in what I am showing.

       

      However. Paid in full to do the show in 2020. So it's not like it's costing me anything. Look forward to seeing you guys there. We have new UK made basses (SWB Deluxe, SWB-1, CHB-1 and CHB-2) on show! Come check them out.

    Just weighed my Harley Benton JB40FL. 10.6 lbs!! Now I may have set up the weigher thing wrong but if not...  Great bass, good sound, amazing value - and virtually unusable for a crumbly like me cos of weight.

      What wood is it? If it's Ash then it probably is super heavy. 

       

      There's a worldwide shortage of Swamp Ash (although that's not a species - it's just ash that grows in a damp environment - therefore dries lighter). So cheaper instruments will use heavy-donkey pieces of ash! 

       

      For our SWBs - we have had to cap and chamber them to reduce weight because of this.

    Good lord, how expensive are Mim Fenders now!! Nearly £700 for an Mim p bass!! I remember when you could get one for £300ish new

      International shipping prices up 400% affecting all parts of the bass. Wood prices up maybe 200%. Scare supplies of ash and other woods so wood prices are sky high

      HA! Yes. Parcelforce are cheap. But they've lost more of my basses than any other courier.

      Interparcel don't insure musical instruments unless they are in a hard case - it's in their fine print. And also insurance is extra. They basically work the same was as parcel2go. I used to use them interchangeably. 

      Also. DPD about half the price of UPS - and much quicker.

      Again, my qualification is that I've shipped something like around 200 basses to europe. :)

      Had a look at Eurosender. Ridiculously too expensive. I'll say it again.

      DPD. Via Parceltogo. £15. Delivery within 2 days. 

      Insurance costs 5% of the value of the goods. £5 to insurance each £100 of value.

    HELPER NEEDED for London Bass Guitar Show. 

    I need an extra pair of hands on my stand in case I need to go pee or eat or suchlike. I can get you in the show (and you're free to wander around and go watch the artists) as long as you check in with me periodically. Ideally if you can hang around till the end of Sunday and watch my stuff while I go get the van that'd be good too. 

    I'll buy you lunch and get you entry for both days. DM/PM me if you feel like doing it. :)
