1. Hi guys,

Bit of an odd one this - I make valve amps from time to time. So here I have a new hand-wired valve guitar head. It has been for sale on eBay and other forums with a bit of interest but no solid offers. But now I find myself needing a portable bass guitar combo - a 1x10 would be perfect, Markbass, Promethean or Ashdown MiBass 2.0, that kind of thing. So basically I'm up for swapping this for one of those. I'd probably value this higher than what I want to swap it for, but I need a combo and don't really need this, so someone could get a bargain...

I also have a 1x12" cab with Celestion 30th Anniversary gold speaker for a higher value bass amp.

    Cheers!

    Description and video below:

    Introducing the Danplifier Matchbox.

Full TMB preamp into single ECC99 push-pull for 3 watts of fun.

Covered in striking red tolex with brushed silver control panels.

Clean to mean at the twist of a volume control, with a footswitchable boost that takes it into full on lead guitar saturation. Full  tonestack to shape the drive to your liking.

3 watt output stage is surprisingly loud, especially through a decent 1x12" cab, but a well implemented master volume means you can also tame it for playing at neighbour-friendly levels.

Lower output power also makes it a great recording amp.

As with other Danplifier amps, it features a ventilation grill above the front control panel which improves airflow and cooling, extending the life of your tubes.

I've been building one-off valve amps to a high standard for a while now - see my work at facebook.com/danplifier also check out a video of this amp being put through its paces here:

  2. This is a painful sale, but I spend 95% of my time playing my main bass, so this is making way to free up funds.

It's a great example of a Japanese Jazz bass. Really well built and tons of fun to play. Looks awesome too.

Serial number dates it at 1995 - and as you can see it's been a gigged instrument. Last player of the bass was from Masters Of Reality who supported QOTSA on tour. Has a few knocks and dings, but I think they just make it look the part.

Being a Jap bass the wood looks like a couple of nice pieces of ash to me, rather than the usual alder.

Neck is straight and action great - loads of life left in the frets. Nut has been upgraded to bone.

Pickups are the standard Jap in the bridge, EMG select passive in the neck. No idea who settled on this combination but they sound great together. Front volume control is also a push-pull pot, which changes the pickup wiring from series to parallel - gives the tone a major fat boost! Pots have been changed to CTS with a PIO tone cap.

Will come with a decent fitted hard case - so shipping should be fine.

Located in Queensbury, West Yorkshire if anyone wants to come and try it.

    Offers around £600?

  3. Hi Guys,

As this is my first FS post I thought I'd better introduce myself - I'm Dan, owner of 4114effects and I've built a few HPF preamps for folks off this forum.

Anyway, I'm offering up my fantastic Yamaha TRB5-pii for sale. It's an incredible bass but I only get to play a couple of times a year now, so it seems like a waste. I'm looking to sell and get a cheaper 5/4 string - probably something more traditional along the lines of a P/J bass or Musicman.

The Yamaha is in fantastic condition - slight tarnishing to the tuners and bridge but that's all. No knocks or dings to the finishing. Electrics are sound, piezo bridge works perfectly, no crackles or pot problems.

Has been set up with a low action, very little rattle and a great low B from the 35" scale length.

Please ignore the missing string - I broke it turning the wrong machine head when tuning up this weekend ... sigh.

Don't see very many of these for sale at all - so trying to find a guide price has been hard. I believe they were over £3000 new though from the information I can get my hands on.

I'm sure you'll know these are fantastic basses - Abe Laboriel and Nick Fyffe use them which speaks volumes to me :)

Comes with original brown Yamaha hardcase - which is scuffed with a few tolex tears but is still sound.

I'm based in Queensbury, near Halifax, West Yorkshire.

    Any questions please ask!
