  1. I'm doing a little series today. A Day in the life of | Pro Bass Player over on my Facebook & Instagram @phillcourtmusic

Missed it but followed you on the 'gram anyway!

  2. So someone stole two pairs of my favourite Nike Air Max today. Such a dumb theft, but so annoying. Give me back my shoes.

  3. When you order la Bella 760fs and they arrive a day early you get excited to get them on, the disappointment when you open the parcel and they’ve sent you la Bella 760fs-‘m’ 😞

    Luckily I didn’t open the string packet…

  4. Tuner > Compressor > Preamp/DI > Dist > Octave > Vibrato > ??? - What would you put last (effect or specific pedal)? I’m struggling for inspiration at the moment…

Ah didn't realise that was without LED - yes all about the LED. They're great pedals you won't regret it.

Ah I see - makes sense then - have a little FX looper on the main nano which can link into the FX board when needed.

Reverb could also work depending upon what you use more. Personally I'd not'd have the compressor at the start of chain either but thats personal taste. If you have a decent DI / preamp you can just use that at the end of the chain and that would give you space for verb and envelope perhaps? Or perhaps a looper pedal to allow you to keep FX out of the signal chain til you needed them?

      I use:

Bright Onion dual input / fx looper / tuner mute pedal  -> low pass -> compressor -> Noble DI

In the FX loop of the dual input box I have envelope filter and octave pedal.

Wouldn't you want your DI at the end of your FX chain? Otherwise a DI signal would be without FX to the FOH? I'd put an envelop filter in b/w 8ve and Vibrato and move DI to end.

  9. Just completed an overseas sale. Lots of extra issues now post-brexit of course but what I wanted to mention was the inclusion of an Apple AirTag.

For £29 we were able to keep an eye on the progress of the bass as it left the Country, got held at customs (very helpful because the courrier tracking suggested it was being delivered at the time), and then tracking in the destination country all the way to it's new home.

Clearly a few quid extra cost but for a higher value transaction a lot of added piece of mind!!!

  11. Always funny to see a bass you sold back up for sale at twice what you sold it for, and being described as a "bargain" 😂

Yup. I had that but at four times the price!! LOL.

  12. Booked myself in for my first ever bass lessons
Despite having played for nearly a decade, being able to read music and stuff, I feel weak and plateau'ed - no idea what to expect from lessons but hopefully some guidance!

      Awesome - enjoy!

  13. 15 minutes a day reading music is better than no minutes.

I always feel like their is a hole in my ability as a bassist. This should fill it!

Absolutely - 15 mins / day x 6 days a week = 1.5hrs which = 6hrs/month. Learning anything new takes time and the best way for the brain to process new material is slowly and regularly. Keep it up and you'll make some decent progress in a few months. Once you see your progress you'll be encouraged to keep at it. Good stuff man!

Good luck either way. I'm getting made redundant end of August so feel your pain at this point of the process - it's no fun but often other doors do unexpectedly open.

  20. Anyone else seeing breast enhancement ads on BC? Ironic really - if anything, I'd like to see breast reduction ads.

Bass (collection) enlargement ads might be more appropriate?

  22. Learning the tune 'Total Praise' for a gospel'y type gig later this month (new to me, it's like someone who doesn't believe in Spiderman learning the Spiderman theme).
