1. Hi... I recently sold my TSB-550 for £450. There are collectors out there who will pay good money for vintage Arias so if you bide your time you will get a good price for it.
2. Thanks for the feedback guys; I've amended the listing accordingly. It is an absolute beauty but sadly it has to go :-(
3. Very reluctantly I'm selling this, the price is now reduced to £500 The quality of these Matsumoku guitars is legendary. Condition overall is excellent . There is one small edge chip (pictured) and some tarnish to the bridge but it isn’t an issue . Not visible but the back of the neck has some rest ridges which also don’t effect anything . There are a few small in the varnish dinks here and there but nothing that detracts. It was fully set up by John at Noiseworks in Coventry
4. This is my 1992 Precision Plus which I paid £750 for last Autumn - it's immaculate. Awesome bass with such a variety of tones...
5.
I would take a look at the VM and CV Squiers, great quality basses
Thanks for your help; I tried a VM Squier Jazz and loved it.. Nothing came close for the money and I was genuinely astonished with the quality. The RBX has gone and the Squier is now my travelling bass of choice,
6.
So many choices available, more so if you buy preloved. Any thoughts on your budget?
Trying to keep it sub £300. I have only bought 2 basses new (the Sandberg and the soon to be replaced RBX170) and the depreciation is a bit fierce. I'm not bothered about the Sandberg because it's a 'keeper' and one day (when I'm old and crazy) it'll fetch a premium!
7. Thanks for all of your input. As I already have some really nice P and J bass examples I don't think I want to add to them. Also under consideration is the Ibanez SR500. I'd be interested to know people's thoughts as I've read mixed reports on the quality.
8. Thanks for your ideas... I'm tempted by the Yamaha but will keep an eye out on ebay for a good 2nd hand one
9. Thanks Mornats Are they Japanese or Korean made?
10. I need some help. I started playing 2 years ago and bought an Aria Pro-II SB550 to learn on. I then grew the herd and bought a new Yamaha RBX170, mainly because I spend time away from home in hotels on business and wanted something cheap to plug away on that wouldn't upset me too much if it got some battle scars. Now here's the problem! I have some really lovely guitars now that just highlight the lack of quality of the Yamaha when I play it so I need to replace it. The replacement will still be dragged around the UK when I'm on business but it needs to be something much closer in quality to the rest of the herd. What are your thoughts?
11. Hi everyone I've joined today... Picked up my first bass only 2 years ago at the ripe age of 44 and have been totally bitten by the bug.. Hence a growing collection of basses that are spurring me on to learn to play better!
