  1. Already sorted it all out I am just here to alert the community not to click! Its pretty slick to get that message within five minutes of setting up a account (makes a new user feel they messed up and need to do it again)
  2. So its a fake profile sending out reverb branded links to reverify your bank details via stripe
  3. Yep goes to a gear page as we all get
  4. The link is to Stripe that asks for your card details..
  5. It was a internal message on their system from a profile with what looked like a legit gear page
  6. I am new to Reverb but thought this worth a post. I am getting inbox messages from "REVERB" that state some one has bought a piece of gear and my account needs to be verified. The message appears as "from reverb" and asks you to verify your account to accept the offer from the buyer. Of course, has a link. I was suspicious so contacted Reverb and indeed it was a scam. The crazy thing is the timing of it all, I just verified my account with them and within 5 minutes get this message to verify. I thought i did something wrong in the verification process. Seems I may have a lot more to learn about that online portal and what to look out for, it doesnt appear to be very safe or secure. I dont even get this kind of attempts from Ebay.. Facebook is obv full of scams, to be expected that "their uncle will pick it up and pay you double.." 🤪
  7. I am more passive nowadays.. everything passive.. many preamp pedals and some nice heads, I find onboard preamps to be all set to neutral for my tastes, however my fishman fluence on my spector euro LT sound amazing..
  8. To UK yes, at buyers expense, including the expense of buying a guitar box and insuring. Its a heavy bass!
  9. American Fender Pro II Dark Knight No scratches or blemishes, superb condition, hard case has a crack but nothing major. All candy included. Not being/been used. GAS purchase during COVID. Lovely look and feel.
  10. Clearing gear out for new purchases 2015 bass, Warwick Streamer LX 5 String Bass Guitar, Natural Good condition.
  11. Beautiful bass, hardly played bought as a collectors item. No scratches, dents or blemishes, second owner. Immaculate is how I would describe it. It was originally purchased from BassDirect (receipt given to me and still with bass) for £3699. Its time to move it on for something I feel passionate playing instead of collecting, and I seem to have lost my vigour for all Musicman basses :0( Hard case and candy included. A real gem of a bass for the Ernie Ball Musicman lover. Build date 6-2021. Certificate included.
  12. Hey all, I am a bassist and writer, sometimes vocalist. Recording and self financed touring experience. I am 53 and have been a active since my teens in LA. I have pro gear and transport and financially independent. My influences as a bassist range from old maiden and dio (jimmy bain style) to thrash (megadeth and metallica), to soundgarden and i love infectious grooves, punk HC like Sick of it All (cross over punk/metal), Amen and Snot, Faith No More.. I am a pick player and love my tube tone with a some grit Amepeg/Orange etc. Four and Five string basses. I am slowly moving away from downtuned 7-8 string metal, metalcore, screaming and shouting as well as all powermetal. I would love to land with some players to create a innovative project -write with regularly, record and tour. No stress BS however, it has to be fun for once! I have done my share of sleeping in cars and drinking to much! Or a band that needs a bassist that can ultimately contribute to writing. I put "alt" in the add as I no longer care much for most of the metal out there- I like groove metal from the 90s, some rap rock, some HC PUNK, some Pop Punk and love 70'/80s heavy rock and metal. I also love alt rock like Garbage, Blondie and music with a melody and super grit.. my ideal band or sound would have a mix of soundgarden vibes, garbage and blondie style choruses with a bit of motorhead/pantera/metallica/faith no more edge.. Loving Sabbath goes with out saying and I loved Skidrow (slave to the grind). (Had to get that out there..) During Covid I wrote a few tunes, produced in NYC and with guest guitars from Sick of it All. I do love their releases and Pete's playing. The vocals in SOIA are also awesome as they are so rhythmic. I am based near Gravesend Kent and willing to travel for the right situation.
  13. Sandbergs superioror build, delano not my fav. My luthier dislikes the bridges and electrics but i prefer sandbergs but would swap the pickups
  14. I have a radial passive DI for home recording i also have a orange AD200 that has no DI and the slave out is also not good for DI i can run the bass into the DI, the. To the head and the from the DI to my interface but not getting that full tube sound. mic ing the cab at home isnt of course something i can do for long periods of time I was considering another head (really want the svt v4b but the demos show the DI is preamp sound only and its best to mic it) - anyone aware of a solution to capture tube sound from a DI? I am wondering what speaker level Di is? Is that connecting the DI box to your speaker? thanks all any ideas on how i can capture the tube tone helpful, or what tube heads may have the right DI for this ( i am considering my class D spare anp and trying to create tube tone with pedals.. but so far nothing sounds authentic headroomy/bold and deep)
  15. Only used in home studio for recording and practice, drive for pedal included, no scratches or bumps aesthetically like new bought new off reverb for £800+ retail seems to be selling for £879 now happy to take offers or trades (SVT or maybe DG mc v2)
  16. Hi, I run a Orange AD200 and also have a Laney Digbeth and GK Legacy 800. I always loved the punch of these GK's back in the 80's with a pbass, but I have to say I am really struggling with the tone on active basses and even on passive to a lesser extent. Its so clanky and trebly its really hard to control. I find using my pedal board with this is a whole other project on its own and then each bass (active especially) with their different nuances, is making this a long term project. Ready to sell it. Any advice out there? I bought it for the light weight, power and punch and have been dialing it warm tube sounds with my vmt dg pedal but this clank is killing me. If i turn the trebles and presences down it really tampers with the tone, not in a good way. Laney is pretty cool, 0 head room on these and after speaking to them that is kind of the point apparently, saturation, but personally with these I think they should have considered a lot more headroom Quality kit though for the price.
  17. I had mine in a climate controlled environment but makes plenty of sense that cracking would be caused by wood expanding. Not had a single issue with it since, its in the same room not sure I am so keen on these glossy finishes anymore TBH, the shiny look and hassle of possible cracking a bit off putting. that being said surprised MM. i have never had a problem with my basses until i started buying 1) spectors 2) warwicks 3) internet …. 😂 its the truth. none of my fenders or MM have probs. Ever. I guess they get their reputation for a reason!
  18. Thank you to all who have commented, its a gr8 communtiy here and its nice to see that folks are not disrespectful to each-other on differing opinions. I feel like every-time i post an opinion on FB I get some serious attitudes! Hopefully this post will help us all determine the best way of purchasing products and what to expect. shipping, andertons always good and bass direct on paying for returns IME. i dont mind paying shipping so much. most bass shops are hours away— we need more!!
  19. I think they did strip it, no idea how a neck thru could have been entirely reglosssed. its very nicely done my only complaint aside from the retailers shit communication on the matter, is the input jack was replaced and it pokes out, not sitting flush with the body I foolishly traded a US fender P and Musicman Stingray and was asked for £500 on top for this bass. not worth it all. Live and learn 😵‍💫
  20. @Aidan63 fair comment, have no experience with PMT or a few I see out there. I think internet buying also adds complexity- if I want something on the wall and its not set up well, typically keep looking and playing others. Getting something in the post that is poorly set up or poor quality another story. I once bought from Absolute music. They sold me a streamer with a minor twist in the neck. My luthier said send it back. They argued to no end that their luthier disagreed and it was fine. we put a small wedge in the neck to compensate for the issue. Never bought from them again. Most of the times this type of issue is resolved if retailer are willing to pay the £30 to my luthier to apply a fix and everyone is happy. Thomann didnthat a few years ago, bought a £2500 warwick that needed some fretboard work. They were super cool about it. my last purchase they wanted me to jump through a bunch of hoops to apply a fix and I just thought, nevermind.. refund please funnily enough, inhave almost never had a problem with second hand purchases from other bass players!!!😂🙏🤘
  21. No. The best ones are made in the US. (Nyc) 7k$ plus
