  1. Having done all the sums we are left with an overall profit of £690.  This has been donated to Cancer Research for breast cancer, and Cancer Research for prostate cancer.  I have also donated a smaller amout to the school for hosting us.  The couple of raffle prizes that were not claimed have been donated to the school's music department, which they are very grateful for.

Huge thanks to Guy Pratt, Laurence Cottle and Barry Moorhouse for their support!!

Thanks also to my girlfriends Gary (@Cetera) and Darren (@Bassforradio) for their early arrival and help with setting up, with Darren also doubling up in his professional role as ace interviewer!

    Also special thanks to:

Mick (@Thegreek) for reaching out to several businesses and getting some prizes from D'Addario

Trevor (@TrevorR) for securing the services of Laurence Cottle and Barry Moorhouse from the Bass Centre.

Oh yes, I'd better mention the wife, Mrs Hamster for sorting the refreshments!!

Thank you all for making the day another enjoyable sucess!

Get the date in your diaries!

I'm very pleased to announce that this year (so far!) our first special guest, who after a brief stint as a graphic designer, decided to pursue a career in music which took off when he was asked to join (the then massive in Australia) Icehouse for a world tour at the tender age of 19. In 1983 he supported David Bowie on his legendary ‘Serious Moonlight’ tour.

This led to him being spotted and used by the likes of Robert Palmer, Bryan Ferry, Womack & Womack, and even The Smiths amongst others. He was thrust into the global premier league of bassists when David Gilmour asked him to play for Pink Floyd.

Yes - Mr Guy Pratt! 😎

  3. A very nice example of a Squier Vintage Modified 5 String Jazz Bass.  It’s the better quality one that's made in Indonesia.  Again, very little wear and it has a pair of Bareknuckle ’84 pickups.

I got this as part of a trade recently but it’s a little heavy for me.  Excellent condition.

If you want it shipped, I’ll buy a cheap hard case for it and add that to the overall cost – or you can send me a case and I’ll ship it in that.  I will ship outside of the UK.

All shipping will be fully insured and at cost which will be added onto the price of the bass.  Obviously shipping costs will vary so if you’re serious I’ll get a quote, or you can arrange your own shipping and insurance.

I’m in Surrey near the M.25 Junction 11.  I’m happy to travel a reasonable distance to meet you to ensure it doesn’t get damaged in transit.

I’ll accept offers near the asking price of £300

  4. Fender P bass Lyte in Montego Black.  Made in Japan, the serial number dates to 1987/1988.  In excellent condition, hardly any wear on it.

At some point its been upgraded with a John East preamp but I can chuck in the OEM preamp pots etc in as well.

Lightweight build and again these can go for crazy money.

  5. Another bass that I’ve rarely played, and growing in value/collectability.  Made in Japan, the serial number dates to 1994/1995.  A few small dings commensurate with age, a little fret wear, slight scratching with the pots.  Condition is very good. I’ve seen these go for crazy money but I think the asking price is sensible.

  6. I’ve had this a few years now and thought I would play it a lot.  I didn’t and it’s just on the wall doing nothing.  It’s easily the nicest Fender P/J I’ve ever played.  The neck is to Jazz neck spec, beautifully narrow and smooth and it almost plays itself.  Very little wear, almost as new.  Serial number dates to 2000/2001.  The Fender 'Hot Rod' P-Bass is a USA made precision bass sold between 1999 and 2001. It was made with custom Fender pickups: a Hot-Vintage P-bass pick and an extra Hot-Vintage Jazz bass pickup. This additional Jazz bass pickup was the 'hot-rodded' element of the Fender design.

    Precision Thump and Jazz growl!

  8. The title says it all.  I'm in rehearsals with a new band where I think I'll prefer 10" drivers over 12" drivers.

My BT2 is in pretty good condition, silver cloth grill, black textured paint (not Tolex type) covering and it has a Roqsolid cover.

It's been used but not abused.

I'd prefer a trade for a Barefaced 6x10 or 8x10 with a suitable cash adjustment if necessary.

Hit me up with your offers!

Must be a way J.C. can apply to a lesser court that has the power to kick it up a level or two when the cops aren't interested enough. Cops aren't the be all and end all of justice being meted out.

There's only a VRR (Victim's Right to Review) when the Police, (or whoever- see above) have arrested or voluntary interviewed a suspect but decided not to charge.  Likewise, if the Police or whoever, put a case to the CPS but they decide not to charge then a VRR can be submitted to the CPS.  If the VRR fails then the next step would be a Judicial Review (£££££££££££££££)

Is this not what Action Fraud is for? They oversee fraud notifications and liaise with the local forces?

If the fraud goes into 8 or 9 figures, they're interested. Otherwise it's just a paper exercise to reassure people that the Gov are 'tough on crime'.

True but based on the publicly available information there appears to be a strong correlation and, with access to right data, which the police can get by making a DPA request to the likes of Facebook, PayPal and connected bank accounts, it should be a relatively simple matter to connect the dots. I suppose it might turn out to be another person or it might even reveal a conspiracy between him and others but stopping any or all of these people would be a good thing.

Facebook & PayPal are very very slow, perhaps resistant, to reply to police DPA requests unless it's a very serious crime.  Requests for details of bank accounts/transactions have to be done through the submission of a production order to a Crown Court judge.  It's simply not a line of enquiry that the police will bother with.
