Caught Slomosa earlier in the year supporting Stoner and they really impressed me. They have that catchy 1st QOTSA album kinda sound, will definitely be keeping an eye out for future releases for em.
OG are always good fun too, can’t say I’ve ever seen them and not had a good time! -

Why post then?
Anyhow,
Desertfest looks awesome. But, as much as I love Shellac, Not really sure they fit with the rest of the line up 😁
I’ve been to DF a few times now and there’s always a handful of bands that are against the grain a bit. Napalm Death, Turbonegro, Godflesh and dare I say even Om. There was an Americana type stage 1 year, not your typical stoner bands by any stretch haha!I think it’s good they do that though, gives people an opportunity to give something new a go 😄

Yeah I’m going to this! Very excited for it although i was really looking forward to seeing Somali Yacht Club but understandably they had to pull out.
Yeah it’s such a shame, can only hope they make it through ok. They were probably at the top of the list of must-see bands for the weekend. They’re still managing to put out new their music, so fair play to them for that!

I bought tickets for it in 2020 😂
I got refunded, though. At the time, it wasn't clear if I'd even be able to enter the UK to attend, whenever it did eventually take place. It's a very different lineup now to what it started out as but fair play to them for making it happen.
Definitely doesn’t feel like there’s as many international bands this year compared to the 2020 lineup. Should still be a good craic, good opportunity to catch someone new! -

King Buffalo’s latest album has been on constantly for me since it’s release in June!- 1

I do like a bit of Electric Wizard.
Today I'm enjoying some YOB
Caught Yob at Supersonic Festival a couple years ago, their set was cut short but they were awesome regardless! Hope to catch them at Desertfest next year.Haven’t seen Monolord mentioned yet, new album on the way in October. Big Sabbs vibes from their new single, can only be a good thing!

I've ordered, this Monday, some La Bella White Nylon's through Amazon.fr from Amazon EU (not a third party seller) using the Prime system as I'm in since the beginning. They were supposed to be delivered on the next day before I hit the buy button, then on the Wednesday when officially bought and today I had a message saying that I will get them next Tuesday and they are coming from ... the U.K.
I'll refuse the parcel if there's any additional fee.
This world is becoming more stupid every day. 🤦♂️
If your order does come from within the EU, as long as it’s under £135 you shouldn’t get collared with any extra fees. Amazon charge VAT at point of purchase for UK customers on non-UK EU sites.
Bought a new frying pan from Amazon.de early January and I didn’t get copped with any additional fees when it was delivered by UPS. My order was about €45 including delivery fees.

Exactly.I saw KISS for £70 at O2 Arena. Two hours of pyro, moving staging, lasers/lighting & all the inherent costs of them..... plus crew, personal/public & product liability insurances, tourbuses, lorries, logistics etc etc
Shoulda been a lot cheaper considering you had to endure Kiss for 2 hours 😂
I’ve seen SP a few times now, last was in Cardiff a few years ago. Didn’t quite feel the same to me without Cory Henry there sadly.
Though like the person above I’d definitely pay more to see a good band in an intimate venue so £50/£75 seems quite reasonable to me.

I’m going to see Zakk Sabbath tonight in London! Should be a good gig and happy to hear they didn’t change much.
You’re in for a treat, enjoy! 😄

Went to a sort of celebration of the 50 years last night!
Zakk Wylde’s “Zakk Sabbath” played in Birmingham. It was a blast, didn’t change much to the songs but just added his own flair. A fitting tribute to Brums finest!

Saw a young unsigned band called Casino (I think) support the Stereophonics at the guild hall in preston. Honestly the blew them off the stage and out of town.
Dont think they ever did anything, but gees Stereophonics musn't have been so pleased! They sounded so boring in comparison (and I like them).
Casino were somewhat local legends here in Brum when they were together, seen ‘em a few times and they were always on point. Never a bad show!
Their guitarist is actually in the ‘phonics now, it’s Adam Zindani!

I stuck mine in chromatic mode and intend to leave it there!
I was only a newbie to bass back then, I just thought it was step on and go. Had no clue it could do that 😂

These both are quite funky & punky I think, killer chorus on Knifeman!

Did a recording session with my old band and we all used my TU-3 to tune up to Drop-D, or so we thought.
Turns out it has a function where it’ll still display it’s standard but it’s actual half tone flat. So we’d actually recorded in half a tone lower yet the tuner displayed DADGBe for everyone. Happened on a gig too, thought my brand new bass couldn’t hold it’s tuning and was knackered on its first outing!

It is indeed!

Doesn’t half love his walnut and maple!
Wonder if I’ll get a peek of it at Desertfest this year! 😄

I can post outside the UK, though postage costs would be on top as it’ll be more expensive.
Shoot me a PM if you’re interested!

Comes with the original box and all the original wires.

O2 branded venues are almost universally sh!te, have been for a while. Overly expensive, usually poor sound, no physical ticket alternatives and a lot of them take a cut from the bands merch.. up to as much as 25%.
