  1. Until recently I would've said a decent Precision, but I recently picked up a USA MusicMan SUB. I took it to a jam which ranged from punk through to funk through to mellow rock and I was able to find a tone for every track. Spot on.

Hope this makes sense, but is it a clear sounding 8 o'clock? When I run my Orange (checked and it's 20w) that low, it sounds terrible. It's either too loud, or cutting out! I was thinking that a 40w would provide a clearer tone, even at a low level?

It's clear enough for me! I think you're best off checking one out in a shop if you can, or if you're anywhere near SE London you're welcome to pop in and try mine.

  3. I have the very same Bass VI. I don't think I would ever use it in a band situation, but it's certainly fun to noodle on, and they look amazing with the white/tort blocks and binding.

Well an update - I`ve gone and bought a couple (one for regular use, one as backup), and used one at gigs over the weekend (with provided rigs) and finally at rehearsal last night with my own rig. And am soooooo pleased - the sound was excellent, exactly what I`ve been trying to get, absolutely spot-on, sits really aggressively in the mix but without a harsh top end. Playability is great, build quality is great, it just shows that sometimes you have to trust your instincts, or in this case, ears.

Obviously some pictures would go down a treat!
