Total Watts

1. Was just going to get a piece of MDF, put a lip on it (some 1cm x 5 Cm planking) with some screw in angle pieces. Then bolt the Castors on below, think that should be pretty easy, if a little basic
2. Would be cool, if they came on a bracket that I could use to sit the cab on, am a little wary of attaching them and then something going wrong and Ashdown refusing to service the unit, as I've bolted on none standard parts. Suppose I could knock up a bracket, we do have a the tools in the house to make one.
3. Well ordered the Ashdown, and yeah it weighs as much as a baby whale. 10kg's for the head, and 37kg's for the cab...eeek....well at least it will keep me fit
4.
Both would be good deals. I`m of the opinion that once you`ve found a brand you like, unless you`ve heard or tried another brand and established it as being more to your liking, stick with the original. I`ve come to that conclusion after having spent many years (and pounds) doing the opposite. Both rigs would be plenty to gig with. The Ashdown you know the sound, and are happy with it. The TC rig, well two 210s gives you portability, and the option of only using one cab at rehearsals, both for gigs. In your shoes, of the two suggested, I`d stick with the Ashdown as you already like their sound, unless you have a way of trying the TC. However I`m not doing TC gear down here, I like it, as it`s very versatile indeed, and if I were ever doing session work, I`d probably have a TC rig for this reason.
Thanks for that, I think I will go with the Ashdown, for the same reasons you pointed out.
5. or maybe this? http://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-amp-heads/pid25282/cid685/tc-electronic-bh500-38-bc210-half-stack-with-free-second-bc210-cab.asp
6. Hi guys, I'm newish to Bass. But seeing as I am now in a band, and we are looking at gigging once we sort out our set list. So that little 20 Watt Ashdown cab I have, is a little underpowered. So I was thinking about a new head, and cab set. And saw this http://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-amp-heads/pid27142/cid685/ashdown-mag600-head-plus-mag410t-cab.asp Is that worth gigging with, or are there better. Considering the quality of the last Ashdown, I would like to stick to the same brand. But if there are better, and around the £500 mark, I will consider getting another brand. Many thanks for help! Stuart
7. cheers for that, will give them a look
8. Actually, I think Songsterr might actually not be that a problem, just the lyrics a song underneath can be a little distracting :/
9. Hi all, playing a gig in July, first rehearsal is this weekend . I need some tab for some songs, and wonder if anyone knows a good source. I have sourced Tab for them from Songsterr, but have noticed a few inconsistencies. 10.
lol - so funny reaverman - is your mexican P bass the roger waters P in your avatar? Just curious to what this bass is like as it's one of the only fenders I like. Black on black on maple
Yes it is Megallica, the neck is fantastic and the Seymour Duncan PUP does produce some nice tones. Though I am playing this through my mates Keyboard amp ATM, getting a practice amp in the next month of so. It's my first Bass, so I do not really have anything to compare it too.
11. Well the workmanship is pretty good on both, just the electronics seem to be at fault on both. Thankfully both work well now, and my local guitar dealership (Andertons), are pretty fantastic at sorting both out. I suppose I am not going to rule out buying another one, but after getting two and both failing in a row. I am going to be a little bit more prepared, if I make a future purchase. That said, if my current MIM's play up again. I suppose it will give me a reason to upgrade their innards with some new kit.
12. Dire Straits, The Eagles, and Soundgarden. But not at the same time
13. Just wondering whether people have had a problem with Mexican Fenders? About 4 years ago, I bought an American Special Strat (MIA), and have never had a problem. Two months ago, I bought an Telecaster Blacktop (HH), which had to be returned to have the switch replaced. Then after having my P Bass 24 hours (last Friday), it also died. Both are now working, but both are Mexican made.
14. LOL...never, tis good for you GAS...honest
15. Hi all, guitarist (nowt spectacular). Who has decided to take a dip into Bass, as a way to hone his skills and better understanding with music.
