1. Bump, weight is around 8.90 lbs
2. Price or Trade Value : £2600.- (Euros 3625.-) For sale this Fodera Imperial Elite, which was modified in Japan for a Japanese Jazz player (see below). Here are the specs details, coming from Fodera: Sequence Number 1286 Serial Number I41286N Model Imperial Instrument Type Bass Strings 4 Top Wood Koa Top Wood Figure Curly Body Wood Mahogany Body Wood Figure Neck wood Maple Fingerboard Wood Ebony Fingerboard Inlay MOP Dots Production Date 4/4/1997 Sold To Hochi I appear to be the second owner of this bass; this instrument was mainly played by a Japanese jazz bassist, who modified it in several ways. Here are the modifications: -the bass was originally fretless -The original electronics was: one Lane Poor soap bar single pickup with Fodera logo one volume + passive tone (no preamp) Modified to: (first the original pickup was moved towards the bridge, see picture) two new Kent Armstrong pickups were installed a ramp was installed One extra volume and one tone were added push/pull swich for parallel to single was added, for each pickups A few words about the condition of the bass: Well, it's been played, and it's close to 19 years old; so you can see that : ) There are a few scratches here and there, some wear and tear, but nothing major, except the hole drilled when the pickup was moved, and the bridge, which would need a good oil scrubbing. Please note that the rather low selling price is taking into account the above modifications. Needless to say, the bass plays and sounds very well; very deep and focused fretless sound. The bass comes with a Fodera hardcase, original straplocks, as well as the original Lane Poor pickup. I am not interested in trades, as I need money to order a custom made 5 strings fretted Ritter bass. (please also see my add for a Ritter Cora 4 strings, that I will post in a few days!) I'll be happy to answer any question you may have. Cheers, Greg
3. I've had a similar instrument; played and sounded really good... Regarding info about the bass, you could try asking Jason at Fodera... although he wasn't yet working at Fodera at the time, he's quite knowleadgeable about the NYC series...

5. How about my Fodera NYC 5 for a trade?
6. Lots of PMs already; most of them answered; thanks for the interest!
7. --SOLD -- Hi from Geneva, Switzerland, I've got this bass for sale/trade: Fodera NYC Empire 5 Alder body (rather light) Indian Rosewood fretboard 3 piece maple neck Fodera bridge & hardware Fodera 2-band Preamp (Volume/passive Tone, pickup blend, High boost/cut, Low boost/cut) Fodera single coils (60's position) Passive mode (pull-push on the volume/tone knob) Approximate weight: 3,9kg According to Jason Desalvo, the bass was built circa 2005 - 2008, Fodera has stopped making the NYC Empire line when they introduced their Standard line. Those basses used woods from the Fodera stock, were assembled in Japan, and shipped back to the US were the Fodera guys would give a few finishing touch and do the final setup. The built and sound quality is very high. Here's a text from Fodera website introducing the bass at that time: "The concept behind our NYC Empire basses is a more affordable, hand-crafted "stock" instrument built from the same quality woods that we use in our more expensive Fodera custom instruments. To keep costs down we build these in small batches, using the best of a limited palette of fine woods. Most NYC basses will be capped with a flame or quilted maple top. Other woods will offered occasionally as they are available. As with all Fodera instruments, NYC basses are made with loving care from the best aged and select wood, hand fit, finished and setup to play like a dream. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, the NYC basses will perform for you." The bass has a few minors dings, but overall in good condition. Will add a few additional details / newer pics when time allows. Regarding trades, I'm looking for a fretted 4 strings or a fretless 6 strings. Brands I fancy: Ken Smith, Marleaux, Roscoe, Modulus, luthier basses... First post here, if I did anything wrong, please let me know : )
