My sister has a prog-tastic wi-fi password.

I am now a veteran here on BassChat. Does that just mean I'm old? 😉 😀

My first gig with goth/post punk band The InSect is on Friday at the Dublin Castle in Camden. Onstage about 8pm. https://www.facebook.com/events/248170544468197

That annoying moment when you buy a Big Muff pedal from GAK and - on delivery - you discover the box (correctly labelled as Bass Big Muff) in fact contains a guitar tremelo pedal. Grrrrr

Who is the member that offers a courier service? - I couldn't find it in the Affiliates thread.

@walshy has a man-with-van he uses regularly. Is that the one you were thinking of, Mick?

I'm starting a flight company exclusively for bald people.
It's called Receding Airlines.

Just been made a Basschat Grand Master. I assume this means I get keys to the executive Basschat loo and my own personal parking space? No one need salute, happy to keep it informal.

OMG. It's Pancake Day next week (21st). That really crêped up on me.

Folks, please if you will keep your fingers crossed for my sister in law today... currently under the brain surgeon's knife to remove a tumour. 🤞🏼

Dear Basschat, I have a problem. I am so happy with all my basses and amps etc that I no longer feel the need to come here and look at things endlessly. How long will this feeling last?

I'm really loving my short scale Marchis bass. I know it's not a great bass, but I'm thinking about replacing the electronics and the cheap components

Had my Serek out for a gig on Saturday just gone. While I KNOW it's an amazing bass....it never fails to surprise me how good it actually is, how fun it is. Love it! Was a fantastic gig!

Please keep your fingers crossed for my cat. Having ultrasound on a big lump.

I hate sanding down paint, it's soul destroying.

I'm finally fully back as a supporting member after a time in the wilderness playing a load of shows with no time to stand or stare at basschat

Still on the hunt for a Vanderkley 112mnt cab...anyone??

D'Addario strings have clarified on Twitter that it is pronounced Duh-Dairy-Oh. Who knew?!

There's a first. We walked away from a gig without playing a note as the pub thought we had too many amps (we are a 5 piece) and our amps looked "too loud". We hadn't even plugged in or fully set up. When they asked us to lose a band member or play after 10pm when their restaurant was closed, we packed our gear and left. Lord Raglan in Wokingham, for the record. My advice: never accept a gig there

The gig was a bit of mutual backscratching for a radio station (Radio Wigwam) which had played quite a lot of WBW's music. Unfortunately, they handed over promotion and organization to a local promoter and a pub that was unaware what they had signed up to. I mean, what do you expect when you sign up a blues rock band? Seems they would probably have preferred acoustic covers of Wonderwall and Mr Brightside.
You live and learn
