Total Watts

 1. I saw them at a festival a few weeks ago. Can't say I fell absolutely in love but great musicians and ineteresting stuff, well worth seeing live.
 2. It is a very minor sounding song though isn't it? Never tried to play it but whoever wrote the sheet music calling it E major might well be wrong, or may be easier to write it out in Emajor rather than Bminor?
 3. Took me ages to work out how to log in on the mobile site and actually it is dead easy. Doh. Nibody (ok, the rest of the thread disappears when doing a reply on the mobile site so hoping I spelled that right)if you are interested I can happily answer a PM. Getting some interest on JMB but many people don't like a new band starting up, which I get but it makes life hard...
 4.
Damned..! That's me out of the running, then...
..and not the journey from France then?
 5.
M&S are a very very good live act, in fact one of the best I've seen.
I don't think their pants are as good as they used to be though. I blame Twiggy.
 6.
Could do this, depending on which 3 notes you want.
Mostly E, some A, quite a bit of G.
 7. Energetic performance and a good song. Just the same thing 15 times in a row to make up a set. Still, probably lots of others you could say that about.
 8. Hello.Nice to be popping my head back around the door of Basschat This is a starter upper rather than a going concern but there is a fair bit of gigging experience between us, albeit doing slightly different things. The project here is good ol' British RnB - Dr Feelgood,Nine Below Zero and stuff that sits well with that from Chicago blues to the Yardbirds to The Clash to The Hives - so, yes, it is a bunch of middle aged blokes playing the blues but no Red House or Black Magic Woman or 20 minute guitar solos, the idea here is something more energetic, think dirty suits* and gritty harmonica. Simply aiming for one or two pub gigs a month, rehearsals expected to be in Walsall,we are easy going and anyone considered. Backing vocals always an advantage but we'd be happy with give it a go shouty stuff(or, indeed, the classic silent, stoical bass player if you prefer). Barring the random chance you happen to be my next door neighbour(in which case mow the front lawn FFS)you will need your own transport and a bass at least. 3 notes needed to keep up with my 3 chords! Cheers *optional!
 9.
Welcome Ben, Wow, what a cool dad you have, to take you to see Gary Moore at 11, My dad took me at that same age to see the band Sky (google em) Crap really. Anyway, there is a thread here http://basschat.co.u...our-band-video/ where you should post a video of your extreme metal band......I love a nice bit of Metal! Cheers Leen.
My first gig I went to was Manhattan Transfer. I may win this one...
 10.
I wouldn't mind throwing my hat into the ring I'm in a couple of bands and based in stourbridge, although all my bands rehearse in brum (Rock Tribute & Function). Been playing bass for quite a few years and have gigging experience. I have excellent amps (2 set ups dependant on size of venue) and 3 basses (for different tunings if required) my number is (07986) 947711. www.danny-tristram.co.uk Hope to hear from you soon Danny Tristram
Thanks Danny. Just down the road from me ( sunny Halesowen) but looking like we are sorted for the moment. Had some great responses folks, cheers.
 11.
Sorry to hear about your current bass player. Your band looks great and would be just the kind of thing I'd like to get involved with eventually. Probably a bit too soon for me now though as I'm still a bit of a newb (2 years exp.) Even so I would have been tempted to throw my hat in the ring, but my current band rehearses Mondays and I don't think I could explain away an unexplained absence. Anyway, good luck with the search and I'll look out for your band at a gig near me in future!
Cheers. We're always after audience members as well!
 12. Cheers Paul, have made a note of the number and will give you a call (you may want to delete it from your post). Cheers Philip
 13.
Spam on the way mate. Cheers
I'll take that as a kindly warning (unless you have just tried to sell me a method to extend my penis - and I am quite tempted...) so have found the messaging service on here if anyone is interested in the band.
 14. Hi. Basschat gets referenced quite a bit on, err, another forum I go on so have used the same forum name as on there ( in a weird belief that will give me some sort of credibility on here). Anyhoo... Our bass player is unwell but we do want to get our act together again so looking for a new bassist. However, we don't want to kick him whilst he is down so this is to replace him whilst he gets better. That will now be months, probably 6 months at least, so looking for someone to cover that with the option to stay as long as the band is together if he doesn't come back. This is a ska/two tone band, generally described as a bit rockier/punkier than the other ska bands on the circuit. 6 of us, aged 30 to 50, one lone female at the moment on keys. Rehearsals are usually central Birmingham on Monday evening, we usually do a couple of paid pub gigs a month (£50 to £100 each). We have gigs lined up. Backing vocals an advantage. You will need to learn a full set fairly quickly but we aren't short of 3 chord songs, so it's not rocket science.Possession of a pork pie, trilby or similar hat also an advantage but not essential.
