Cant really comment until I know how the connection to the aux was done. (Balanced/Unbalanced - length and type of cable etc). It doesn't surprise me if you are going over an unbalanced lead)

Balanced connection straight out of the desk, 10m XLR. If it makes any difference then I'm using the same XLR to plug the U4 transmitter into so I can have it on my side of the stage.

  2. Just spotted some talk on this thread about the Behringer P1/P2 IEM packs... I've just upgraded from the P1 to the mono Xvive U4 wireless system expecting the only advantage to be the fact it's wireless, but actually the clarity is a massive improvement as well, especially in the low end. This was something I wasn't expecting but is really noticable, such a difference to the mix when naturally a lot of my focus is on the bass.

  3. TecAmp L410 - £400

I've owned this since new and it was my main gig cab for years. Increadible sounding cab, massively loud. This is a true "one cab" solution - 4ohm with a 1200W power handling and a managable 25kg one-man lift.

I've delayed posting this for sale as it's truely the best 4x10 I've heard let alone owned, but alas we went fully IEM a couple of years ago and 99% of my bass volume now comes through the PA. I've been using a much smaller cab for the last couple of years and I could do with moving this on to clear a bit of space.

I've included many pics so hopefully you get a very clear view of the condition.

    The good bits:

Mechanically, absolutely sound - works and sounds as it did on day 1.

It's been kept in a Roqsolid cover its entire life and as such the condition is broadly good - no marks at all on the front grill, the sides and top are largely unmarked.

    The bad bits:

The tolex around the bottom edges of the cab is pealing back in places and exposing the wood - I was tempted to cut off the fraying bits and use a black Sharpie on the exposed wood, but I'll leave that to the new owner if you wish to do so.

I've added casters which make it very easy to roll the cab in and out of venues, but these are knackered - they roll fine but a couple of them are completely missing the bearings so it natuarally sits on the wonk and can be a bit top-heavy when wheeling around. When stationary you can manually twist the casters to get it to sit level. This is the second set of casters I've had on this cab and eventually the bearings give out. Unfortunately I don't have the original feet otherwise I would happily include them with the sale.

The lights... so I've added this within the "bad" bits, but beauty is in the eye of the beer holder and all that... - The lights work fine. They are bright and look pretty cool on stage if you're into that sort of thing. The install is very crude - the LED strips are zip tied to the inside of the grill, the job is pretty neat although certainly not "professional". The power conector is untidy - the wire comes straight out the front of the grill, amateur soldering job which is wrapped with a load of electrical tape. The new owner would easily be able to remove the lights completely without damaging the cab at all. The power adapter for the lights is included.

Collection will need to be from Portsmouth/Southsea - unfortunately I can't drive at the moment so I won't be able to meet half way. I do gig throughout the South East weekly, but I'm travelling with other band mambers and there won't be any space for this cab. I really don't want to post this with a courier so will hold out for a local collection.

Think I've covered everything but I'm happy to answer any questions.

The lights when they were first installed, actually looking pretty decent:

  4. I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers.

Got a wedding on Thursday and they've asked us to learn this. "I'll busk it on the night", I thought...

It's taken me over an hour to nail the note placement 😐 As far as I'm concerned, those boys can go 500 miles and multiply, and they can go 500 more.

Honestly don't know why I've bothered - a Thursday wedding during school summer hols means a dancefloor full of kids and sober parents, we'll see...

Anyone else struggled with this one?

  5.  Dabbling with doing some covers videos, playing around with setup and levels at the moment - I'm recording as live from an old Pod XT Live straight into a Tascam recorder with a phone into the Pod aux input playing the backing track from YouTube 😂

Does a YouTube link imbed automatically?

    A: yes!!

  6. It's par for the course. Sometimes you don't know how a song will come together until you get in the room. I've learnt all sorts over the years that never made it out of a rehearsal room, but if it's just personal preference on dropping stuff then people need to speak up when the suggestions are going around to save time. Or take it as a learning process - learning a new song will never make you a worse player.
