Total Watts

1. I have one of these, identical apart from the D tuner and the headstock logo which I think is a later addition. I bought new in June 1991 so this one is likely to be around the same age. I'm about to buy another Status, but one with more colour! After 27 years I've come through my "black" period!!
2. Thanks for the interest and comments guys . . that's one of the great things about basschat . . people are interested enough to make the effort!! Of course I agree with your comments . . and the rig has never let me down and never needed any repair. It's the last of a long line of all-valve amps I have used. Beginning with a couple of Selmer Treble & Bass 50s (into 2 x Marshall 4 x 12s), then the Marshall 100 head (don't remember model no. but would have been circa 1968!), then an orange Sound City 200 Stack with 2 x 4 x 12s (never liked it!!), then a couple of Hiwatt DR103s with a 4 x 12, (then a brief sidetrack to an HH "solid state" top, soon saw the error of my ways!), then the 1977 Hiwatt DR103, then the 1993 Trace Twin!!! So I'm not one for change generally!!! But as mentioned earlier I eventually got myself into the new century with the Streamliner 900 and 2 x Bergantino 12s . . impressive clarity . . so far so good!!!
3. I wouldn't rull out a split as an eventuality, but for now I'll see how it goes as a rig . . in the meantime, Walbassist, thanks for expressing your interest,
4. Rig now sold - with thanks to fettsman and exit2112. Cabs off to have fun in Loughborough and head off to Croatia for new adventure!!! Well used but never abused, my trusty Trace rig is looking for a good home! This is indeed a rare amp. If you search Basschat there have been a couple for sale here previously . . with good things being said. Bought new by me in 1993 from The Bass Centre in London (to succeed my immaculate 1977 Hiwatt DR103 and Hiwatt 4 x 12 - only recently sold). Rated (very conservatively!) at 115 watts but very loud, never used at more than 4 on Master Volume! Used for all types of music in it's time, capable of being very punchy. With all the EQ needed this can cope with the largest of venues, and can be used with just one cab (as I did) for smaller ones. Only ever handled my myself and transported in own vehicle - never been in and out of vans! With a bit of TLC to the amp handles and cab corners could restore the rig to it's former glory! There are several cosmetic marks to the cabinet tolex also. The original Trace name plates were never used. Supplied with Trace Manual and covers. I've even got the original brochure for the rig! Recent new output valves fitted. Reason for sale - downsizing . . and to pay for replacement Streamliner and Bergantinos!!! Looking for £600 for the rig. (One example of the amp recently for sale at The Bass Gallery in London for £400) I'm located near Norwich, which I appreciate is "off the beaten track", but am open to making it as easy as possible for a prospective purchaser. Thanks for looking!
