    Ska band's gig next Saturday is at a Conservative Club. Hmm, well a payday's a payday I suppose. Anyway... I've bought a special shirt for the occasion.

      You may well find most of them are only there for the beer (and the music, of course).

       

      I once ran the sound for a two-day Ska Festival. Four bands per day and only one, a band playing Ska Versions of Pink Floyd songs. Did anything but the usual covers. After 7 versions of Monkey Man, I was all Ska'd out for a year or more.

       

      The Pink Floyd Covers band were also the best musically.

      I don't play it exactly as per the record. From memory, he changes the bass line almost from bar to bar.

    Bugger; just found out that a friend from my previous job died today. She was in ICU with Covid for a few weeks, and was even posting from there a few days ago, but didn’t make it out.

     I’ve known her for ten years. She was funny, kind and leaves 2 young kids (7 and 4), as well as her poor husband. 
    I’ve said it before, but this year can do one.

      It is such a shame, in the first  phase we were all told that is was the old and sick that were susceptable to this virus but it has become clear that anyone can succumb. My thought are for those two children.

    Had a low profile on here recently....Mum died on 27th June following a stroke and bleed on the brain.

    Her suffering has come to an end.

    My Royal Mail 48hour Tracked Return arrived at it's destination yesterday - after 19 days...during that time I was unable to track it...

      You have to remember that Royal Mail handle much more than just parcels. To some extent they are hampered as there workers must self isolate if they show any symptoms, The so called "self employed" delivery drivers  working for many of the couriers, almost have to work whether they are ill or not.

    Having a week away in Dorset. Place says it has free wifi. Except 4 of the 5 hubs you can connect to don't have an internet connection.

    So everyone is using the one that works and it's slower than 1990s dial up...
