1. I recently sold my car for £350, a perfectly alright car that just sailed through its MOT. I'd never sell a bass that I loved to buy a car, I commute 3 days a week to university in London by train. I have to walk a mile or so with a bass and a bag of books and maybe my macbook, catch a train to Birmingham and then the train to London, then the tube. Then I do the same in reverse going home. I used to drive into Birmingham which saved loads of time and messing about, but decided it was a luxury that I didn't really need, and I could use the money I saved to buy basses . Gigs I use my mom's car. Good luck with the sale though, man , looks like you've made your mind up about it.
 2. This thing is amazing, very good quality sound. It's about 3 months old, but I just bought an Apogee Duet. U24 XL is not only stylish, it is with dimensions of around 10 cm x 9 cm a device that can go with you anywhere. Offering total flexibility of an external USB device and pure digital quality, coupled with true high quality 24-bit support on the 2 analog input and 2 analog output channels provided via TRS connectors, U24 XL will easily qualify as the most useful device in your studio, wherever that may be. Even better, U24 XL also provides digital S/PDIF connections in both optical and coaxial format. U24 XL ships with Cubase LE from Steinberg for both Mac and PC. If you're looking for a really powerful USB audio device that is small and that gives you maximum performance under Mac OS X as well as under any current Windows environment including Windows Vista, 7 & 8, then U24 XL is for you. Features

2 x analog input and 2 analog output channels (1/4" TRS connectors)
one output connector usable as headphone output
S/PDIF digital in and out available via optical (Toslink) and coaxial (RCA) connectors
24 Bit AD/DA converter
realtime input monitoring for incoming signals
drivers for Windows 8/7/Vista/XP with ASIO support with low latency
Core Audio support under Mac OS X 10.4 and higher
dimensions: around 10 cm x 9 cm
£50 posted.
 3. Cycle or walk, catch a bus or train, skateboard, scrounge a lift off parents, friends or work colleagues, these are all viable alternatives to selling a bass to pay for repairs to a car.
 4. I just bought a new Prokeys 88, so this needs to go to make room for the new arrival. This is in good condition, a couple of minor scuffs on the one corner where its been transported, but apart from that it looks really good. It works perfectly, and has never let me down. From the M-Audio website - If you appreciate the full range of a piano keyboard in a lightweight package, the 88-note Keystation 88es is for you. You get great-feeling, semi-weighted action that’s velocity sensitive to convey all the nuances of your playing to your computer and most popular music education and studio software. The pitch and modulation wheels plus slider and buttons make it a great controller for playing and programming synths, samplers, drum sounds and more. At just 22 lbs., the Keystation 88es is equally at home on stage and in the studio. Class compliancy with Windows XP, Vista (32 bit), and Mac OS X ensures easy plug-and-play setup. It’s even bus-powered, so one simple USB cable is the only connection you need. I would like £65 collected from my home in Birmingham.
 5.
Not quite such a Fender 'anorak' as others (which is not meant as an insult - far from it) but I once owned a 1961 Precision (bought from John Entwistle) which had a very thin neck in the same way as this one. Very wide and very thin. Not to say this hasn't been thinned but I have encountered this before and the note from JE didn't mention any work having been done (and the notes he sent with his basses were pretty comprehensive).
You once owned, bet you wish you still had it .

 9. My experience of the sort of venue described, is that you more often than not get such a tiny space there's absolutely no way you'd ever fit an 8x10 cab there, 2x10's or 2x12's that I've been using for years generally only just about fit in. Workingman's and social clubs also like nice quiet little duo's, I've never seen one having a blues, funk, rock band, especially with the sort of volume levels that these must be producing. Maybe that's where the quick getaway comes in handy .
 10. I had the same email about Dunblane etc, that to was for the email address specific to this site, my normal email doesn't have my name followed by bass@yahoo etc. I set up that email address just to register on here. I had a ton of spam when I used my real email address earlier in the year, when I registered on a site trying to find a flat share in London. I was getting 40 or 50 spam emails a day. A friend told me to set up different email addresses for things like that, then I'd be able to see where they were coming from.
 11. If it's still available after New Years eve then I'd really like this, I'm getting a new rig from Bristol some time w/c 2nd January too .
 12. Will have the head and 2x10 on the 31st when I get my student loan money, doubt you'll wait until then though .
