1. He's just horrified at the idea of me shifting the bass! I'd love to justify keeping it, payday hasn't treated me as well as expected. Cheers!
2. Bit of a feeler here, this is an amazing quirky instrument but sees little usage and I can't really justify keeping it with christmas around the corner. This is a Schecter Stiletto Studio-8 Bass, for those who don't know, this is esentially a 4 string bass strung up with octave pairs ( E-e to G-g ) Amazing for filling out space in trios and one guitar bands. If you want to sound like Dug Pinnick or JPJ this definitely will be up your street. I see very few of these things knocking around second hand! These retail at somewhere between 800-1000 so I'd be looking for £425, still in brilliant nick and will throw a new set of strings on for good measure ( as you can see it's currently operating as a 4 string ). In terms of trades i'm not really in the market for a new bass however I would consider a part ex on certain pedals, would consider anything as long as it isn't an Overdrive or Distortion ( sorted on that front ). Can't hurt to ask if you want to offer something for trade though! Located in Sunderland, Collection preferred but can post at buyer's expense. http://imgur.com/a/NUrf3 Cat included, obviously.
3. Completely fallen in love with KC recently and especially John Wetton's tone and playing on "red", especially providence and one more red nightmare, is this guy seriously underrated or have I been living under a rock?
4.
"One handed practising" ... snigger 😉
Yes I did realise the innuendo after posting this! 😂
5.
I have some legato things that I had to do for an exam at uni. I can let you have those if you want ? They were proper melodic things, not exercises.
Yes! That'd be very kind of you and a great help if you wouldn't mind
6. Right, stupid ol' me managed to acquire a pretty brutal hand injury which requires a fair bit of recovery time following the operation. I don't want this to become total downtime with my bass playing so I want to work on my left hand technique, anyone know of any cool legato exercises or some techniques to work on vibrato etc? Don't want this to be wasted time that I could use to improve! Cheers!
7. Afternoon Chaps I'm after a 8 string bass a lá John Paul Jones/Dug Pinnick but I'm feeling rather lukewarm about a lot of the budget models on the market and since a Hamer is a little out of my price range I really want to try my hand at a conversion, question is, what to use, I need something with a rather wide fretboard and would find tuning pegs on both sides of the headstock useful! Want to pay somewhere in the region of 500 for said bass, what does everyone suggest?
8. Cheers for all the advice! Definitely going via interparcel for this one! Excuse my ignorance as i've never had to deal with couriers before but will the shipping of my bass be tracked and signed for to ensure I don't get scammed by the other party, I.e: he claims he hasn't received it, etc... Cheers!
9. A gentleman got in touch with me recently inquiring about buying a bass I have for sale on this forum! Whilst I'm pleased he's definitely interested in purchasing I'm unsure as he's based in France, whilst I have no problem going through the hassle of shipping internationally, I'm not too sure where to start, what's the best way to ship it as cheap as possible and risk free ( still want to do it tracked and insured if possible! ) Apologies if this has been raised elsewhere in the forum! Cheers!
10. North East England but regularly commute nationwide at weekends to gig so something can be sorted out if you're far away!
11. Bargain at 850! Or make me an offer ( certainly craving a sandberg right now! )
12. Looks gorgeous mate, would snap this up in a heartbeat if my ray ever gets shifted! Have a bump
