G and D sold. One D string left

No worries. Looks like the G measures 178cm but the top silk is 32cm.

Also remeasured the D at 182cm with the top silk at 36cm.

both bottom silks are 11cm ball included.

having measured one of the D strings: they are 182cm length. The bottom silk at tailpiece is 11cm including the metal ball and the top silk at scroll is 35cm.

I may be a few millimetres out…I guess the G will be the same?

I have noticed a website that has a reduced price for Olivs (G at £130 and D at £140)…

so I cut these prices too

- £90 for the G 

- D string is at £90 and £100

- £270 for all 3 posted (UK)!

thou shalt not find cheaper Olivs (unless you add an “e” at the end, but that’s a different thing).

According to the Pirastro site, they only come in 3/4 size…strange but if that’s from the horse’s mouth. Here the link

Offers and trades considered as long as they are double bass related.

If you are thinking of trading I can consider

- gut strings;

- light weight cabs for stage monitoring;

- double bass stage mics or pickups like Ehrlund.

But cash is king!

Bought a load of used double bass strings from David and was very impressed by his honesty and communication. Great all the way!

I have had one for years and it is such a great instrument; it does all the small gigs, all the classrooms, all the workshops, it’s so easy to carry and a joy to play. As a working tool, I think it really is an investment.

This is such a wonderful bass. It will become a pedigree bass and an investment in time, but for now, a thoroughly excellent sounding, easy to transport bass.

For anyone wishing to upgrade their student bass, this is way better than anything else in the price range, because of sound and construction, but also because it is made in England by a wonderful man (Paul) and will increase its value in years to come.

I am (marginally) better with German, so this carbon fibre French bow is up for grabs.

I cannot remember a thing about it sadly, apart that it is carbon fibre and probably a student level (I.e. decent, but definitely not a sublime stick).

Only used at home and very little at that, it has a couple of light scratches on the stick as per photo.

I have a tube to post it and postage is free in the U.K.
