1. I might put the pickup cover back on 🤔 Nicer to play without it though.
 2. For sale my Great Gramma Isolation Pad. These things are amazing! We used to play a pub where the stage was above the beer cellar. I just couldn't control the sound. After I bought this the difference was night and day. Much tighter and more focused. No more booming and uncontrollable resonance. Great for staking your position on stage too, especially if you have a drummer who thinks he needs more room for his kit! Sadly I've given up gigging so no longer require it.
 3. Definitely roundwounds. Love Elixirs but am now trying Coated GHS Boomers as they are cheaper and am loving them even more! The Boomers have a bit more edge, certainly than the nickel Elixirs. Just waiting to see how long they last.
 4.
Has anyone tried the MB Fusion 800, and particularly with a Super 12? Sorry to hijack the thread somewhat but I'm looking for something more portable than my very loved GK2001RB.
Super Twin with MB800 sounds fantastic (and loud!) if that helps?
 5. I've only played my Super Twin indoors so far. It's very, very light yet feels really solid. Handles look really strong! Finish is extremely hard and the wheels at the back seem very sturdy as do the feet. I was a bit concerned reading some of the comments about the finish on some of the older models but this one seems totally bomb proof. The sound is rich, hi-fi too. Sounds brilliant with the MB800 on clean or boost. When playing chords you can hear every note clearly. Drop D sounds great as well as noodling up at the dusty end on D and G strings. Oh, and it's extremely loud :-D- I cannot imagine ever wanting or needing anything else now, I'm very happy.
 6. Super Twin no3 with it's new playmates. We are so not worthy! (Well the MB800 might be) ;-) Sorry, no pint of Hobgoblin - spent all day waiting in for Fedex and then playing................................ :-D
 7.
Excellent news. How come you guys are getting your new cabs so quick? Have barefaced majorly increased turn round time? As soon as I decide what cab(s) to go for, looks like I might be pressing the button too. Cheers Thenassman
My Super Twin is in transit and will be here today! :-D I ordered it over 3 months ago and the wait has been painful but hopefully my knee won't be in future! Typical, our singer's ill so no gig tonight and after a flurry of one a week we don't have another one till November! Will be pushing for lots of band practices ;-)
 8.
After a 290 mile round trip, Super Twin # 001 is in its new home, where it is a perfect fit for my ABM 500. I'll fire it up tomorrow, but late in the evening to inflict it on the rest of the village now, and should be gigging it tomorrow evening.
Fantastic! Hope all goes well. Looking forward to the pics and sounds. When I eventually get mine (wonder what number?), will post pic c/w pint of Hobgoblin and Hobgoblin T-shirt!
 9.
AND ME!!
Me too! Only been 3 months. GK MB800 waiting for action! ;-)
 10. Hi. I play an MB4210 with MBC115 and we do pubs and clubs like you. I also found this could get boomy in certain circumstances. I've found the following helpful and rarely get issues now:- Blend classic and modern channels with mid para on 11 o'clock and mid vol on 1 o'clock. Bass and treble on both channels at 11 o'clock. Not too much Voice on classic channel. Gain on 75%. Voice setting varies according to acoustics. Blend 75% classic channel/25% modern. Don't use too much compression or effects. I found a Great Gramma pad makes a huge difference on hollow stages. I used to have massive issues and sometimes played with bass cut right back, but that's all behind me now!
 11.
me too Huzzah - cab paid for now. So close!

He is, he replied to me.
I've "only" been waiting since mid June. Guess I'll have to be patient for a while longer
 12.
This is getting me really excited. Keep checking my emails to see if Alex has contacted me!
Me too! How long have you been waiting?
 13.
Should we start a 'Here's my Midget in a silly situation' series? Here's a start, a little charity do at a school, but outdoors, just vocals through the pa. Not a metal-loud gig but pretty punchy. Midget handled it just ticking over, plenty of capacity left. I would not expect a 1x12 to be able to sound like this. Recorded by audience member on an iphone. There will be more, let's see some more examples of Midgets in places where you'd expect something bigger. (Try with headphones or linked to some proper speakers, laptop speakers won't reproduce the bass)
Sounds awesome, great playing too! I've had a twin on order since mid June. Been checking for "the email" several times a day ever since! Hopefully not too long now. I'm going to partner it with a GK MB Fusion
 14.
Hi, I've registered with the iguitar site, but my cursor won't align with the login box! I'd love to read the review and see the vids as I'm looking for either the MB Fusion or MB800 to go with the Barefaced 2x12 I have on order. I currently have a Marshall MB4210 and MBC115 and exclusively use the "Classic" (1x12AX7 valve) channel. Does anyone know if the FET preamp of the 800 sound similar to the tube preamp of the Fusion? I play mostly classic rock and pop in pubs, so I think the Fusion will have enough oomph (the Marshall does). Thanks.
Two very helpful replies so far.... Maybe I'll have to go for a Fusion 800 ;-) Any other thoughts much appreciated.
 15.
Having had the Marshall MB and the GK MB500, I wouldn`t put the sound of the GK as being like that of the Classic Channel on the Marshall. The GK is a lot crisper sounding. I would assume that the 800 and the 500 are similar sounding. To get near the Classic Channel on the Marshall I`d go for the MB Fusion, and drop the highs - the Fusion, due to the pre-amp valves is a much warmer, thicker sounding amp than the regular GK MBs.
Thanks Lozz :-)
