  1. Believe it or not, I bought this guitar to learn on and I've enjoyed playing it for a few hours but realised that it's not really my style! It's in mint condition (although I'm happy to take more pics) and comes with the official padded soft case.

Am happy to consider trades (with £ my way or your way) for any music gear.

Also happy to send at buyer's risk (I can source the proper box for it) or collection from B23 Birmingham.

  2. literally just bought this a few days ago and have immediately spotted something else that I'd like to buy. 😁 I would consider trades but am aiming for a sale.

I purchased this because I thought it looked cool but, when I received it, I was more blown away by how nice it was to play a 30' scale bass. It sounds great and has been looked after very well. I originally purchased this from Chris at Alpher Instruments, and so it's recently (couple of weeks ago) had brand new 'Newtone' strings and a complete setup.

  3. I'm sure I'm not the first, nor will I be the last, but a few years ago I committed a grave mistake and sold a custom bass. I had some personal stuff going on at the time (it was my only instrument) that forced the sale and, in retrospect, I wish I'd found another way as I miss it dearly and am wondering if anyone might have any ideas of how to track it down.

    The Bass

The bass is/was an Alpher Instruments Mako Elite 5-string - scroll down to the bottom for pics.

    What I've Found (so far)

After I sold it, it later appeared for sale at Bass Direct. At the time (this was also several years ago) I didn't have the funds to buy it back. The listing can still be found here, and I've recently contacted Bass Direct directly, to see if they may be able to help out.

I know it's a huge stretch, but I'm desperate enough to check often and thought I'd see if anyone's gone through something similar (reassurance is appreciated) :)

  4. For sale is my Ibanez SRMS805 in 'Deep Twilight'. Condition is 9.5/10 and there are no issues. Setup is medium-low with LaBella RX-S5 strings.

I shall unashamedly paste th description from the original listing - although I will absolutely vouch for the huge difference the upgrades make (I have an original SR fanned fret that I'm keeping, due to it being a gift):

"I bought this new last year and stripped out its Ibanez preamp and its seriously average chinese licensed Bartolini BH2 pickups out and installed US Classic Bass Soapbars and a 3 band Bartolini HR-5.2AP/918 preamp.   Configuration has changed from stock to make this the ultimate tone machine and works as follows:-

    Volume - Push Pull Active/Passive

    Blend

    Treble

Mids - Push Pull Frequency Selector

    Bass

    Toggle Switch 1 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Bridge Pickup

    Toggle Switch 2 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Neck Pickup

If you've played a stock SRMS805 before, this one will play the same but tonally it really is an entirely different animal.  Its fantastic and the array of different tones you can get from all the different coil arrangements is wonderful."

Collection from Birmingham for £750 or willing to ship at buyer's cost. No trades.
