1. i've always found warwick bridges to be a bit too narrow for .130, but they do fit if you take some pliers to the string and squeeze it a bit
2. Up for sale is a Marshall AVT275 guitar combo amp, its 150w and has a 2x12" speakers, so thats 75w per speaker. Its got 4 channels, two overdrive, one clean and one acoustic sim, loadsa knobs Never been gigged, only issue is that the rear fan is starting to get a tad noisy sometimes tho this can be solved by a swift bump to the casing. I like to call this the Yorkshire repair. Looking for £200, local pickup is prefered, I live in Preston, tho I visit Leeds often as well. I'll try to get some pics this saturday
3. you had to be on the south coast! Any plans for a trip up north some time soon?
4.
I played bass first, and tried guitar later, and when I did I found myself at odds with the standard guitar tuning. I came to the conclusion that the tuning makes sense in one specific context: for strumming full 6-string chords. Coming from the bass side, however, I was used to the strings being a major 4th (5 semitones) apart, so could I tune the guitar EADGCF? Turns out it works just fine for many things, and I still do it today, though I don't play guitar much. I have a system of working out chords (a spreadsheet), and the chords can be transposed in two dimensions - up the neck and across. There are even some chords that I can strum on all 6 strings: just not as many compared to standard tuning. Since you're (generally) not going to be playing 6-string chords on bass - ewwww! - I think you have no reason to want the same tuning on the bass as the guitar. I think this is behind to some of the comments here about "thinking like a bassist" - and also our objections to the term bass guitar. To get the most out of the bass, you will have to go beyond guitar techniques. Sure, it's possible to play a bass like a guitar, to lay a bassline down, and I don't mind when guitarists like Satriani and Vai do that - it gets the job done on tracks where it's all about the guitar. Those guys also know that if they want a more complex bassline, and more of a band feel, they need to get a bassist in to the studio.
This sums up my personal views on this, I think its a superb post. Ultimately your tuning is always going to be up to you though. Just out of curiosity (and I'm not having a go here), what is your specific reason for wanting an eadgbe tuning? I'm not going to tell you its wrong and no bass should ever be tuned as such, tis just that I think that if you said it then more people might give useful suggestions as opposed to bashing you for it. Also, if you think about what it is that makes you want it eadgbe, then it might help you to make a more informed decision. I'll put it this way, I often latch onto an idea such as this because I have an idea fixed in my mind that a certain way is the correct way. For instance, when I picked up a guitar for the first time I thought the high b and e were ridiculous- why would someone do that? Then I came to the same conclusion as bnt, that it is tuned that way for a purpose- 6-string strumming. A bass (in my opinion) would only need to be tuned in that fashion if one were to 6-string strum it a lot. As such, I realised that eadgbe is a perfectly reasonable tuning as it is done so for a purpose, to retune a guitar to eadgcf# would be me just being a stubborn git This is why I think you need to decide what your purpose is for this tuning. I'm not saying you havn't thought it through, I would just like to help you crystalise your own thoughts if anything. Also, have you tried a 6 string bass before? As in gone into a shop and had a play around with one? I understand its not that easy to find one lying about, but lots of bassists find it difficult to use them (including me I'm not ashamed to admit), never mind guitarists (DISCLAIMER- this is in reference to the size of neck on respective instruments, NOT me saying that guitarists are less of a musician or any such crap.) Those are my views, think of them what you will.
5. hate to break this to you, but I think the pickup has fallen off...
6. I'd also be interested in any info, I believe I've got a bass to ship to Germany soon and everything is really quite expensive! I've looked on the dhl site and I cant see any links to the ground service prices, does anyone know how to find it? I'm a bit thick y'see...

12. As you can see from the topic, I'm seeing if anyone would make a bid on my 2000 Warwick Jazzman LX 5-String. It left handed, as I've said. Apart from that its got a flamed maple top (AAA I think) with a US swamp ash back.rosewood neck with a wenge fretboard (tho i could be wrong on this bit). Apart from that, its important to note that I really disliked the original jazz pickup so I replaced it with a custom wound Wizard pickup - this has been set up to be as punchy as possible, for a good slap sound. I kept the humbucker as it is as I always liked the warmth and depth if I solo'd it. As such, this is more versatile than if it was stock. Gonna be honest, its got numerous dings, however none affect the tone and if you look in the pics they aren't that noticeable unless you get up close. Looking for around £600 negotiable Few pics (Note, this was with the old pickup in, you cant see the magnets on the Wizard one):
13.
I think I've had the luckiest escape from dings.... I was playing a show in a rock club of questionable sophistication in Warrington, we'd finished up and started loading out of the fire doors next to the stage. I'd stopped to track down my bottle of water when someone grabs me and says the words you never want to hear.... "Hey mate, some smackhead's just made off out the door with your guitar!" He'd grabbed the nearest thing off our guitar stand and legged it into the darkness. The load out stopped and we made off in after him. We eventually caught up with him, he'd dumped it in a patch of grass just off the main road, and tried to make an exit from the seven angry scousers who were in hot pursuit. Unbelievably, we got it back to the venue, and there wasn't a single scratch or dent on it. Those things are indestructible
Which bass did he make off with, you stay very mysterious the whole way through
14.
Flea - On You Oughta Know, Alanis Morrisette; and again on Butterfly by CrazyTown
I KNEW IT. Thought a bassist that good couldnt be in a band that ass...
