1.
Unlikely to be massive difference in the OEM vs retail drivers, might be something though. Sounds like a speaker went because disconnected and the others were pushed hard and tuned wrong because of the new passive radiator they had to deal with, what head was it?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad that the single speaker is quite easy and cheap to change. When I opened the cab I realized at the latest that the cab is built like a tank and it's definitely going to last my whole life. Awesome piece of gear and the 4x10" + 1x18" stack is the loudest thing in the world. The amp is a Finnish point-to-point handmade custom 300W tube amp Monster el Monarca. There is more info in the manufacturer's site http://monsteramps.fi/site/?lan=3&page_id=63 The guy who makes these amps is also fixing it. Luckily Finland is quite small country and most of the big cities are being located in south so the fixing service is also quite near. I have posted this picture to this topic in the past but here you can see the amp.
2. I managed to break my Matamp 4x10" - bass cab and my 300W tube amp a week ago at gig. I opened the cab today and checked up the elements - one of them was completely dead and did not show any reading when I tested the impedance with a meter. I also noticed that one of the electric wires was also detached from another element (not from the one that I think is broken). I have the Eminence Ferrite Delta 10A (8ohm) elements and there is a marking "Custom manufactured for Matamp audio techology". Any idea that what's the difference between the standard and the custom version of the element - or is there? I cannot even describe the feeling on the stage when I realized that the cab went suddenly completely mute and the tube amp blew all the tubes few seconds later.
3. Point-to-point Monster el Monarca 300W amp (custom made in Finland) with Matamp 4x10" + 1x18" cabs. Awesome set of gear. Really really versatile amp. Sound City B100W mk3 (1969) with Aurinnko))) 2x15" cab. Awesome set as well. Home practice rig: Echolette B200 + some 70's Kustom 1x15" cab. Nice retro-set.
4. Monster el Monarca 300W + Matamp 4x10" + Matamp 1x18".
5.
What speakers you got and what's the output?
http://www.stagebeat...S-105060-110528 The 18" is a Celestion Driver 8ohm/600w. More info from the link above. The 4x10" is with Eminence Ferrite Delta 10A's (8ohm/1200W).
6. The new 1x18" just arrived. The sound is HUGE! Love those cabs.
7. Does someone know that how long is the cab building process at the moment? My 4x10" cab took six months after I had paid the retainer but they had problems with Eminence back then. Now I ordered and paid the retainer of a 1x18" cab at the beginning of May, six weeks ago. Their official site says that "the estimated times for build are from two to six weeks with cabinets". Really interested to hear sound samples from that DI also. I would also love to hear more sound clips from GT200...so owners, please Juuso
8. Just ordered a 1x18" cab. The 4x10" is probably the loudest thing ever - I think that it beats many of the 8x10" cabs out there. Can't wait to get the 4x10" + 1x18" setup.
9. My 4003. Love the colour, great bass.
10. Just got my new 4x10" cab. I sent an inquire to Matamp for a 1x18" cab...let's see that what they answer.
11.
Yeah man, I can go get my 1x18 at the same time
How's the 1x18" working? I'm getting my unported 4x10" with Eminence Ferrite Delta 10A's (8ohm/1200W) next week and I'm planning to buy either a another 4x10" or a 1x18"... any recommends?
