8. Ooh that's nice! What wood is it and what type of jazz is it made for? (Japanese/usa/me etc)
 9.
Do you really believe this?
no Crez! I should rephrase that to not everybody gets paid to play music they love. Op clearly doesn't enjoy that kind of music, however it's a standard set list for a lot of weddings. The clients will pay to hear what they love, unfortunately not what the bass player enjoys playing. ive been lucky that I've earned a living playing music, although playing ballroom on a cruise liner didn't fulfill me musically. my point if you are being offered decent money to play music, you are very lucky to be in that situation and perhaps for the time being,he can just enjoy playing, which is what we're all here for. cheers
 10. Nobody gets paid to play music they love Andy πŸ˜‰ take the gig while Mrs Travis is on maternity! Whose the band? That list looks familiar (every wedding band in the country). I'd be quite happy to take a gig with a decent wedding band, especially as I lost all my gigs after moving to another part of the county πŸ˜•
 11. Awww I had a streamer Lx in exactly the same finish, with the slim wenge necks (p J pickups) one of the best basses ive ever owned! Just beautiful, if I had the cash id be very tempted πŸ˜† Have a bump

 14. I'd have thought connectin it to the ray preamp would provide the power as an EMG circuit would.
 15.
I've owned a JV Strat since the early eighties, it's an excellent instrument but in this day and age I'm sure you could get something to equal it in quality for less money.
I completely agree! The classic vibe squires are fantastic for the money and those limelight copies get a lot of love. Even modern day japanese basses are fantastic (bacchus etc). I feel there are some far more interesting fender inspired basses coming out of Japan these days.
 16.
I need to get out more...
lol πŸ˜‰
 17. Very informative! Thanks again J back to the OP! Yes get a Japanese fender copy, they are great. Sadowsky metros are Japanese made and are silly money.
