A fretless interpretation of a Bee Gees song on my fretless Zon..

If this would have been in Belgium this would have been sold to me but with exchange rates and Brexit..it's a different story.

One of those instruments I always wanted to have ever since I heard Grainger with it, they sound like a bass should sound to me.

Years ago I got a phone call from X legged Sally but I told them that they had to get Paul for the job (he's not only an excellent luthier but he played far better than me). Luckily for them they did..

Bought this bass from him couple of years ago... great bass to play.

Like I mentionned in another fretless ad : people never seem to photograph the side of the neck where the dots are...I wonder how they are positioned, thx !

I have the same bass but with "normal" positions..

This 1987 Supernatural arrived this week from France..

A bit of noodling and a more "normal" sound for the Abba song :-) 

My Zon has this sort of solution, ideal for me...

Have you got any pictures of the dots aside the neck ? It's weird but everytime people sell fretless basses they take a thousand pictures of everything but never of the side of the neck..(sorry for asking but I can't play on basses with dots instead of lines). Thanks !

If this were in Europe I would buy this in a minute but the extra taxes etc make it hard..

I have actually the same model since a long time but I would fancy another one..I was very lucky to find one really cheap around here in Belgium at 20 miles from my home.

I have owned around 280 basses (from Wal to Zon to Alembic) but this would be my main bass if I had to choose one for life..

I think I have seen at least ten basses I would love to buy (like that beautiful Carvin fretless or a lovely Smith) but unfortunately the taxes and the whole hassle turned me away..

I bought a  lot of fantastic basses around here and had excellent transactions with everyone..it's a pity that has changed which has nothing to do with the members themselves naturally..

I was and am a bit curious if there is a change in sales or offers here on Bass chat after the new policy regarding shipment or sales to Europe...

Has it had an influence on the people buying basses around here ? Do British music shops feel that Europeans buy less because of the import tax or the paperwork which has to be done or did everything stay the same ?

Not that I want to start a discussion about Brexit...I am just curious if other basschatters have certain views on how this has affected their GAS ?

If I speak for myself it has had a huge affect on buying basses around here because in the back of my head not only the calculator pound/euro is working and the costs for shipment but also the calculator import tax etc..

My enthusiasm of seeing certain basses around here has changed a bit because I know that there are extra costs so I buy less than I used to...

Any other views from fellow "Europeans" but also the British themselves about buying basses since this change ? Thanks for any opinion (and sorry for any mistakes in my English)

I read that book "Remain in love" by Chris Frantz recently and it changed my perception of the band a lot...

A lot of bitterness and weird situations...In the beginning I was on the side of Frantz but in the end you feel that there is more to that one side of the story.

Not a word about Jerry Harrison while you get detailed discriptions of the food they had in Paris fourty years ago and only one small mention that Tina (the love of his life, he simply adores her) wanted to leave him if he didn't give up drugs...

My favourite bass line is "Mind" (it has a Mick Karn flavour)

I remember the seller in Antwerp telling me something that he ordered the one I bought from Status itself...

I had a bass like this one, had an excellent Miller-slap sound..I shouldn't have sold it..

Pity you're in the UK, if this would be somewhere in France or Germany, I would certainly buy it....

I was lucky enough to see her at the same venue back in 1978 too, on her only other tour. 

Couple of days ago it was Kate Bush night at the BBC. I couldn't believe what I heard and saw..I had forgotten how amazing she was.

I remember her appearing on Belgian tv when "Wuthering Heights" came out (I was 16). No one had ever heard or seen anything like her.

Del Palmer had some cool basses too in the footage ..I saw an Alembic and a five string Status.

"Refuge of the roads", the most beautiful fretless part ever played imo...
